need advice on marijuana medical use

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by wackjob18, Mar 3, 2009.

  1. Recently I have been researching about medical marijuana and im amazed at how many things marijuana can help with people. I have 3 people in my family out of 4 that marijuana may benefit them including myself.

My mom has extreme anxiety problems and also she has extreme joint pains to (she complains about both all the time) I wonder if marijuana could possibly help her with this. She has a pyschiatrist and ive payed close attention to all the medication she gets but they never seem to satisfy her or they have side effects that make the medication not worth it. Could medical marijuana possibly benefit her?

With my brother. He has anxiety, depression, and he could possibly be considered anerexic (idk how to spell it). Whenever he smokes though he says that it always calms him down and puts him in a better mood. He also even eats a lot too. More then i ever see him eat. Hes 5,9 and only weights 115 lbs so marijuana may help with him gaining weight. He has tried many prescriped drugs by his pyschiatrist but none seem to make him gain weight.

And with me. Im diagnosed with ADD. I have tried ridaline patches before and they did help me pay attention but the problem was, I would crash using the medicine and it definatly made it not worth it. The crashes made me super depressed (not a sad depressed but a depressed where I did not care about anything, I wouldnt eat, and I would sit in a corner and stare at the wall for 2 hours.) Ive been smoking for a little bit but i have never thought of trying to use it to see if it could actually help my ADD. Of course I understand I would eat cannabis I wouldnt smoke it, and I would use it in small doses. If i just get super baked I know I wont be able to pay attention but I wonder if i just got a little high but just a little bit if it would actually help me in school a ton.

Just wondering if any of you guys partially agree if marijuana may help 3 of us. And im saying a big may cause I really dont know if it will 100% work or not.

  2. I am a HUGE supporter of throwing out any prescription drugs escpecially ones that CLAIM to "fix" you mental issues or pain. My suggestion is doing a lot of research of both sides of the fence, pro marijuana/anti marijuana and pro prescription drugs/anti prescription drugs. I could sit here all day and type out reason after reason why prescription drugs RUIN lives, but I think that you doing your own reading and research on the subject will make a better point.

Truthfully, I think that cannabis has not been researched nearly enough in America with America's funding to discover all it can do. In my own life, people who have taken what doctors have prescribed for them for pain have turned into drug addicts for the pills. The same person tried cannabis medicinally and turned their life around, tossing the Rx Drugs and using an natural remedy instead.

Other people I have known have taken "anti depressants" and laid in bed for two years in a room of their own trash and garbage only leaving to eat once in a while.

Do I think cannabis can help? YES, but do your research and I think you will find it can, too

    All the Best

  4. I can't help noticing that a lot of the symptoms are what I and other wheat-sensitive/intolerant get. It runs in families and could be affecting all of you. I was just like your brother a long time ago, couldn't put any weight on, always depressed and in pain with stomach or joints, low blood sugar, feeling listless and wanting to stare into space all the time. I stopped eating wheat and got major relief in 5 days off it, and was fully normal within about 5 weeks. My mood and health have completely stabilised.

If I cheat now and have wheat it affects me a lot more than it did, that's one of the things youhave to put up with, there's no going back to wheat once you're off it. but I do find that I feel so much better I'm happy to do without it, my quality of life is ten times better. It could be worth giving it a shot, it's funny how many times things like this can be down to something wrong in your diet, or a food allergy. If you get time, maybe you could check out this site:

    http://www.foodintol.com/wheat.asp

It's a very common problem nowadays.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-51648/Wheat-intolerance-facts.html

"...What are the Symptoms of Wheat Allergy and Wheat Intolerance?
Wheat allergy causes the same sudden onset symptoms caused by other allergens - coughing, asthma, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hives, rashes etc.
However the symptoms for Wheat Intolerance are much more varied and usually have a delayed onset - up to 2 or 3 days later. This is why they are traditionally difficult for doctors to diagnose. They can be:
Gastro-intestinal (stomach bloating and cramping, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation etc.)
Neurological: headache, memory loss, behavioural difficulties, depression
Immune: poor resistance to infection, mouth ulcers, arthritis
Skin rashes, eczema, psoriasis, itching flaky skin
General: food cravings, tiredness, chronic fatigue, unwell feeling..."

  5. Haha whats funny is im wheat intolerant to! I got food allergy tested a while ago and found out im dairy and wheat intolerant.

  6. !:) So you'll know the joys of relief with weed? Nothing like it. I can go from totally beat from sensitivity to fine in ten minutes with one bong.

Have you cut it out of your diet since? Has your Mother tried it herself? Random joint and chest/rib pains are pretty common with WS, it really does sound like she's got it - and the older you get the more likely it is.
