I'm thinking about a closet setup, as many of you know money is tight these days and it's just too much to keep smoking money away, my wallet can NOT keep up with my needs. I have a open closet, no door. I'm concerned about light leak during flower. How should i hang plastic? I was told black plastic is the best, shit goes for only $10 so why not? Anyone have experience with this stuff? Does it leak? And how can i best keep it sealed for 12 hours a day? I was thinking of getting velcro strips but OMG they cost a ton of money just to do one doorway! Any ideas? Oh i should mention iv'e heard about the double sided plastic with mylar on one side and black on the other. Looks kinda pricey.
You have to love the irony of these bots, here i am saying how damn broke i am and they are trying to sell me shit over the internet lol.
I use panda poly for on all my walls and ceilings in grow rooms. It is white on one side and black on the other and doesn't leak light. It comes in rolls which unfolds to 10' high x 25' or 50' or 100' and costs roughly $1.00 per lineal foot. Some hydro stores will cut to the length you want. For your door I suggest you tape it to the wall on one side and the top and Velcro or zipper it on the other side for entry. (You can buy zippers that tape to the poly for easy entry )
I've got a similar setup, grow room without a door. I bought an emergency blanket from a hardware store (5 bucks), cut it in half and taped it to the wall. On the side where I imagine the door hinges would be, I put duct tape. I used clear packing tape on the side that I open and close. Duct tape isn't very good at re-sealing once it's been pulled off its surface, at least not nearly as good as packing tape. I got both rolls from the dollar store. I'd invest in a proper poly sheet if I were you though. that's what i'm doing for my next grow, poly+velcro. pricey but worth it in the end considering how much you'll be saving from never having to buy weed again.
I'll definitely look into that! It might get hot in there though i'm wondering if i can cut a hole on the bottom for an intake. The room it'self is airconditioned extremely well.
