Need Advice From the People of Illinois

  1. If anyone on here lives in Illinois can you please help me? I'm thinking of moving to Illinois but I'm drawing disability and my check is only a little over $700 a month. If I found a cheap apartment, would they let me smoke cannabis? Or step outside to smoke late at night? I use it for pain control because of my osteoarthritis and to help me sleep so it will be late at night. I currently live in Indiana and the AG here is trying to stop 3Chi from selling the synthetics. There goes my pain control and I haven't been to sleep yet! The only thing my daughter will let me have now is CBD. That stuff doesn't work for me. Does anyone have any ideas?

  4. "AG here is trying to stop 3Chi from selling the synthetic"

Buy bulk before they pass anything banning it, 100g jars should last ages, at that point your usually paying $1 or less for 1000mg.

Also those synthetics are hit and miss for some people, they can make sleep and pain worse for some while others say it helps. Best to get the real stuff.

$700 be lucky to cover rent in some places.

  5. Yeah, I noticed that they dropped the price on their 1000mg carts to $20 each. I think he's getting ready to close shop. I subscribe to cannabis news, and it was reported that the new 2023 Farm bill that fixing to go before the POTUS to sign into law. It corrects the 2018 Farm bill flub-up and makes all synthetics illegal. I'm going to order more get stocked up. I'm hoping I will be able to order Cornbread CBD gummies and tincture. It has 2mg of THC, I guess that's 0.3%.

  6. You should be fine, I would look into rural communities in southern or central Illinois for affordable housing in a safe area. Cannabis is legal here. You should be fine in your apartment as long as you are considerate to neighbors. People online can teach you how to hook up a small carbon filter to eliminate odors that could bother your neighbors.

Also look into Thca "hemp" loophole in the farmbill. Check out cultofthefranklin on Reddit for list of good vendors but I heard good things on prestonhempco.

  7. I wish I had known about that THCA sooner. I had a bong picked out for when cannabis goes legal and when the cops around here didn't know about it then, I could've set in my room and smoked away, with my room air filter going along with incense. Gosh!! That brings back memories.

  8. How can a country so large be so divided. I'm lucky it's laid back here last time I was caught it was a small fine. Move to Australia.

  9. There is no short answer to that question and it is complicated. I think Cannabis was prohibited, and demonized in our society for social control and $$.
Hemp conflicted with lumber industry and that was enough to outlaw it originally, next it became a means to arrest blacks and hippies. Once they are arrested and convicted as felons they can no longer vote. Next you have pharmaceutical industry/big money fighting to keep it prohibited.

Our educated class of citizens by and large are indifferent if it becomes legal because they do not use cannabis, and face less competition in gaining employment since it is difficult for Cannabis users to pass pre employment drug screen.

Also we don't want to legalize in alot of our southern and Midwestern states because that is where we draw alot of our military population from. Who will fight our wars if they are stoned/ pushing for peace?

  10. Yeah I wish they would take weed off the drug testing list. I could definitely see someone feeling offended when they see the guy who has been high half his life ends up in the same building as them making the same pay

I believe we will see nationwide legalization in pretty much every state in the next 7 years. I believe the hippie people are tired of having to go to drug dealers to buy weed, and the government probably realizes now just how much money can be made from selling weed.

  11. I'm here in central Illinois and it seems fairly relaxed. There's new dispensaries openings up finally, so some of the smaller towns, like Lincoln, are starting to get them, but the prices and tax are still high. You can get deals sometimes. Some of the houses around here are cheap. I grew some outside and they turned out pretty well. Let me know if you're in the neighborhood and you can try some!

  12. I would if I could. But I have no way there. After my daughter let me use her hubby's car to make one trip to Illinois, I have been grounded. That is my situation here in Indiana. My daughter has always followed the straight and narrow and doesn't want me to risk her family and home because I'm in pain due to arthritis. So, I'm stuck in this prohibition hell hole you call Indiana and even though hemp is supposed to be legal on a federal level, the hemp buds are illegal. At least in Indiana where they will lock you up for looking cross-eyed at a cop. So, I guess it would be in my best interest to get my own place where no one will tell me if I can have a glass of wine with my meal. My daughter said to me that no matter how much I drink or smoke my problems will still be waiting there waiting for me. She doesn't understand that at my age (61) I don't give a shit. All of my life I have lived in someone else's house under their rules. Except for the 25 years of my life I spent married, that was the only time I didn't live under someone else's roof. I guess it's time I find out what it's like to be in charge of my own place, and do what I want.
