Hi! I'm a complete beginner and would like some advice about the plants in the picture. Its been 20 days old since sprouting, I'm growing in a closet with 1 x 125W LE and 3x 20 W LE. The plants are about 4.5 - 4.8 inches tall. 1. Do they look "normal for their age" in terms of size etc.? 2. I don't know what strain they are but I'm guessing its some kind of Indica? Is it possible to tell by looking at them? 3. I had planned to Low stress train them, but I'm wondering if its too late? The stem is kind of thick and I'm afraid I will harm the plant if I force it down? According to LST guides I'm supposed to tie down the tip of the plant, but it's hard to tell where the tip is because its so "compact"..? 4. How much longer approximately before I can tell the sex of the plants? 5. How do I know when it's time to move them into flower cycle? I am not too bothered about getting too much yield, as I don't really need that much. Thanks!
1.) Yes, they look normal. 2.) Indica dominant hybrid is my guess. 3.) I'd let them grow up a little before LST but that's just me. 4.) It could be another 3-4 weeks before sexing. I have some seedlings at 5 weeks that still haven't shown yet. 5.) You can flower them at any time, they will show sex within 2 weeks. You can then pull males. Also, when you change the light cycle to 12/12 to flower, the plants will stretch considerably. That's as good a time as any to LST. Good luck on your grow.
