Need a little help

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by DWC, May 15, 2010.

  1. I have been givin conflicting info on where the water level should be in my DWC setup. The roots have not dropped through the net pots yet and I have been told to have the water level at the bottom of the net pot and have it about an inch above the bottom of the net pot. which is it? do I have it below, at, or above the net pot?

  2. I keep my level at the bottom of the net pots.... Not so they are sitting in the solution, just on the surface

eventually strong healthy roots will live and float in the oxygenated solution and thrive.

  3. Usually what I do is fill up the res to half way up the net pot when they are just seedlings. Then I let it naturally evaporate, and as it does this the roots will grow down and out of the pots. I would recommend leaving at least a 1" gap between the bottom of the pots and the water level, especially for later in the grow. You can do it with less of a gap, however make sure that there is plenty of aeration or your plants will drown.
