\t\t\t\t\t Nebraska Democratic State Senator Ernie Chambers has decided to go straight to the top in an effort to stop natural disasters from befalling the world.
\t\t \t\t \t\t\t Chambers filed a lawsuit against God in Douglas County Court Friday afternoon, KPTM Fox 42 reported.
\t \t\t\t \t\t\t Click here for more from KPTM Fox 42 in Omaha.
\t \t\t\t \t\t\t The suit asks for a "permanent injunction ordering Defendant to cease certain harmful activities and the making of terroristic threats."
\t \t\t\t \t\t\t The lawsuit identifies the plaintiff as, "the duly elected and serving State Senator from the 11th Legislative District in Omaha, Nebraska."
\t \t\t\t \t\t\t Chambers also cites that the, "defendant directly and proximately has caused, inter alia, fearsome floods, egregious earthquakes, horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornados, pestilential plagues..."
\t \t\t\t \t\t\t Chambers says he isn't suing God because he has any kind of beef with the deity. He says the suit is to fight possible laws restricting the filing of frivolous lawsuits. Chambers tells KPTM FOX 42 News that his lawsuit is in response to bills brought forth by other state senators to try and stop lawsuits from being filed.

"The Constitution requires that the courthouse doors be open, so you cannot prohibit the filing of suits," Chambers says. "Anyone can sue anyone they choose, even God."
\t \t\t\t \t\t\t Chambers bases his ability to sue God, as, "that defendant, being omnipresent, is personally present in Douglas County."

  2. He wants to prevent the stopping people filing bogus lawsuits so he files the most bogus lawsuit ever. Just the fact that he wasted his communities tax dollars on the processing of this bogus lawsuit makes me want to stop bogus lawsuits. I get the idea of what this guy is doing. It would be very dangerous to place laws on who you are allowed to sue and what you can sue about because it would be used to protect corporations from lawsuits regarding defective products and such. I just think his method is stupid. At least he is going to be on the news though, he will raise some awareness and alienate evangelicals.

  3. i dunno, this is america, you should be able to sue whoever you want, it wont be long before america becomes yet another country where the people have no power.....

  4. I think we may already be there. We still have legal rights and voting but the people dont know how to use them. They weakened the population's minds, they cant think critically anymore. Without the ability to know you are being screwed you dont have any power.

  5. our whole legal system needs a big makeover, TO THE WAY IT WAS!! they had it pretty much right the first time, "a government for the people, by the people."

i forget where i saw the qoute recently, but it was by ben franklin, went something like this, "the society that gives up a little freedom for a little security, will in turn lose both."

but anyways back on track this guy is just wasting tax dollars and getting a few laughs

  6. about time someone sued that fucker.

  7. Made me somewhat proud to be a Nebraskan, haha.
