  1. im guessing we've all seen footage from the tsunami that hit japan.
    i think these are incredible.
a lot of human emotion in them, but nature doesnt give a fuck about that.

  2. I see some people didn't get the memo on rule number one: always keep running. Some people were right at the water and still didn't run, just crazy.

Anyhow I'd like to see any of the power plants as they went under. Those things were right on the coast but still stayed in tact compared to all those other buildings. Imagine how much water ran over all of those reactors as it went in land and then back out.

  3. this video is of an evacuated area near fukushima
    its eerie.

  4. so my first question would be how much does that thing have to read before they know they'll prolly have cancer? I usually go with the rule of thumb that any 3 digit number is prolly not good but I admittedly don't know how that thing scales or measures it.

  5. That's just so surreal. Watching those people walk out of their homes, carrying what they could, I can't even imagine how you'd start to process all of that. They just got through a couple minutes of some of the most violent shaking ever experienced on earth and then they have to run from a massive flood of water only 15 minutes later. That shocked, exhilarated expression on their faces says it all. :(

  6. If you ever saw me in any radiation area and any little device was making that fucking noise you would see me getting the fuck out of there so fucking fast. It could be a ringtone for all I care radiation + that = scary!

  7. damn.

  9. lol at first I was thinking, ok something's bad here but we have some time. 10 mins later I was like ok, shut it off if your just gonna ignore the loud beeping thing that's telling you death is floating in the air. By the end of that video all I could think is, those guys are as good as dead.

I make jokes but on a serious note, this will be without a doubt the worst natural disaster to date. Although I have no doubt the country will recover from it, if the people working in those power plants don't get a memorial and as comfortable a life as we can give them for the rest of theirs then we have truly failed as people.

edit: thanks all for posting these video's. It's an important step in the right direction.

  10. I just pooped myself. I've seen some crazy things in my life but realizing that no one was driving that tug/barge, then seeing those buildings. The only thing I can think of to say is how can I help.

  11. seriously.
i've been thinking about going over there in the future if possible.

  12. "What man built up the wind and rain tore down. The fields he cleared for his crops and his villages the jungle fought to reclaim. The seeds he sowed the birds snatched away. The shoots he nurtured the insects nibbled. The harvest he stored the mice plundered. The animals he bred and fed the wolves and foxes stole away. The mountains, the rivers and the oceans stood in their places and would not make way for him. The earthquake, the flood, the hurricane, the blizzard and the drought would not disappear at his command."
