Naturally processing AVB (or decarbed bud) with coconut oil?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by AlphaOmega420, Jan 27, 2014.

  1. If I was to add a half oz+ of AVB into a jar with extra virgin coconut oil could it reach optimal potency after 1-4 weeks with daily stirring?

Or would I just be better off processing the oil normally?

If so would you recommend using a convectional oven or a stovetop? and what temp is best?

    Thanks!

  2. Im not really sure about naturally processing it but I prefer to use a crockpot it stays at a nice constant temp that only requires you stir it every once in awhile and they tend not to get hot enough to burn the oil.

  3. Doesn't it take all day to cook it via crockpot/rice cooker?

  4. I also have a bout a quarter of AVB laying around as I look for something to do with it. From what I've read the only problem leaving herb in oil is that it'd need to be decarbed first, but having been vaped I'm sure that's already enough heating. I don't have any proof or sources but I'm definitely gonna try this soon

  5. Vaped bud is already decarbed, I dont know the specifics but I think it would all he absorbed at like maybe 2-3 days at the most? Im not 100% though, sorrySent from my burner

  6. Decarboxylation occurs at around 212 degrees fahrenheit. You won't to keep it under 350 though, other wise THC evaporates. I also highly doubt leaving bud in a jar with oil for weeks will have any more of an effect than leaving it in their for a couple of days.
