Hey, Ok, so first time grower and I'm piecing together my plan. I have a cabinet that has a split down the middle, currently I'm planning on using only half of it. It has ample room above the cabinet, about 20 inches, that I plan on using for my blower when I eventually install it. My cabinet dimensions 14x15x40 (usable height subtracting 12 inches for light and planter pot height) Based upon this height I wager I will need a 3.5 to 4.0 gallon pot. My plan is to use a CFL grow, 4-5 bulbs in a reflector on a string to dictate height. I intend to only grow one plant at a time, possibly two as experience drives on. Here are my concerns: My cabinet is very narrow but tallish. I'm concerned at the more important stage of my growth my top light will not do it's job very well (penetration issues). I'm planning on using Low stress training (LST) to try to control my plant, but obviously I've never done it before. This led me to the U-tube type CFL's (an example: Buy MLTE26/27 26W 4 Pin GX24Q-3 2700K Triple Tube CFL at GoodMart.com They are typically very flat but are usually very small wattage (top would be around 20 Watts). They do require different mounts but I found a place nearby that sells the 13W bases. I plan on mounting them on the three sides of the box about a foot and a half up my box for side lights. Then fashion some kind of screen to protect the plant from burning and trim as necessary. I am planning on using a shorter strand- like lowrider at first to see how it goes. I can also knock out the middle of the cabinet but I would like to have a seperation for now to allow a veg/flowering chamber. Sorry for the lack of pictures. Thanks in advance. Side question: On the seedbank websites, when the plant is referred to "Short, medium, tall" what dimenions are small? Computer case? Medium: < 4 feet. Tall: get a warehouse? Thanks in advance.
