Naming your piece

Discussion in 'Smoking Pipes, Glass Spoon Pipes' started by Madhouse, Jan 8, 2013.

  1. This will be my first post, so I'll make it about something that's always intriqued me: how do you name your piece? DO you name your pieces? As a somewhat newbie smoker (only smoked regularly for about a year, though I smoked occasionally for years before that), I've only within the last four months gotten my own pipe. Before then I was using one that my brother gave me (cheap piece that he never used anymore, caught the edge of a table and shattered). So, I recently named mine, and though it's a pretty cheap piece, it's become a source of pride. See, the first week or so that I had it, when I got high I would kick back and watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it's a beautiful earth-tone piece, with brown, yellow, green, and stripes of orange. About a week ago, it hit me: Mikey. With the orange stripes and all, I couldn't resist. My question is, if you named your piece, how did you go about doing so? Everybody has different stories, and I'd love to hear yours!

  2. My girl bought me my last bong so I let her name it and she named the bong Saturn. She named it that because we call getting high "Going to Saturn" for shiggles.

  3. Get real baked and study it carefully, then a name comes to me

  4. Lol, nice. I've known people with some weird-ass names for their pieces. One in particular was Glitterdick. Unfortunately that name means exactly what it sounds like: the thing was a long, sparkly bastard that was shaped EXACTLY like a phallus.

  5. you gotta name your piece high

I named mine Pearl because I was super high and studying it intently and noticed on the front it had a design that looked like the flowers in the sky in Spongebob, and all my friends say I'm Mr. Krabbs because I pick up and save loose change even if its pennies so it was just perfect to name it Pearl, since that's the name of Mr. Krabb's daughter

  6. You have to be high when you name them. My first piece is called "Ricky" which me and a friend named while watching the Bad Lip Reading video of Herman Caine. thennn there's Billy, my bubbler, who's brother is Richard. However, when my girl and i are baked we refer to them as dick and balls because they vaguely resemble genitalia.

But yeah in the end i normally smoke out of it then just think of a few names. then if one sticks that's it!

  7. Got this ROOR (marley frosted style) spoon bowl a few months back, black in color all around with a glossy "ROOR" inscribe on top. A buddy of mine came over one day a couple weeks ago and we got a bit of OG Kush to smoke on for the day. So I'm walking around my room to get my stuff ready to go long boarding, I hit it one more time and start coughing a lung up. Looked at him and said "Mufasa, I roar when I hit it hard and it's like Mufasa's black stripe down his head."

  8. i always name my pieces
here are some names of my pieces
BG12X,Shit disturber, Optimus prime, Marry Poppins, My friend earl,Earl's missing finger, Cherry, White Beauty, Crooks, Castles, Elephant man, Zong-a-long, Feel good rasta, CD, and many more just cant remember

  9. I for some reason have a lot of trouble naming my pieces. I have so many its difficult, lol

  10. I name every paper I use

  11. Still have not named my pipe I got like a month ago

  12. This is how i named my 2 pieces:

The first pipe i got whistled (kind of like how you blow over the top of a pop bottle) so i named it whistling willie haha

The second pipe i got has a red, white, and blue color scheme so i named it captain america.

However you name it depends on you

  13. This is the only way to go in my eyes. I'm going to sound crazy here, but a piece you truly enjoy and invested money in(not something you're going to trash), you should treat it with respect. I don't know if it's because I'm always high around my friends' pieces, but the names given to the piece usually match the...."soul" of that piece. It's almost like there's a kami in the piece that controls it's identity.

Again maybe this is because I get high and over analyze a piece of glass, but I feel that a good piece is a work of art, and art is a way for the artist to express themselves.

As for me, I've never owned a piece worth naming, always getting a cheap "throw away" spoon from the local head shop. That will be changing soon enough however, and I can't wait to sit down after smoking a bowl and looking into the soul of my piece.

  14. Definitely can't name a piece before smoking out of it. Gotta get a feel for it first.

  15. I named my first piece Little Bitch after one of The Specials' songs and because it's the smallest pipe I've ever seen, but you can get some mighty good hits from it, despite the size.

  16. I do not name inanimate objects because the doctor at the asylum told me it was a sign of behavioural depression and that I would have to come back.. Lol jk

Honestly though, I don't focus on naming my piece as much as I name my bud. Like the PK I gripped a few days ago, I've been calling her sweetie :D

  17. I just looked at mine, and for some reason, the shape and colors reminded me of the movie"K-Pax", so I named it Prot (pronounced "prote") after Kevin Spacey's character.

  18. I named my bong Gaia after the Goddess in Greek mythology and my bowl Achilles after the Greek war hero. Bad ass shit man.

  19. First day with my new spoon, and I've made 15 dollars for little errands; exactly what I paid for it I might add, talked to a cute girl I like and made her laugh, and was told by a teacher I don't have to write an essay which was due last week because she "knows I can write." Also, I got one hundred percent on a driving test and found my favourite kind of pen on the floor in the hallway

This pipe is good luck that's all there is to it. I'm naming it lucky.
