N.J. man arrested in deadly attack on sleeping kids | The Salt Lake Tribune Trenton, N.J. • A man high on PCP-laced marijuana stabbed two neighborhood children in their home while they slept, killing a 6-year-old boy and critically wounding his 12-year-old sister, authorities said. Osvaldo Rivera was found hiding between a mattress and a bedroom wall Sunday afternoon inside a Camden apartment and was charged Monday with murder and attempted murder, said Jason Laughlin, a spokesman for the Camden County prosecutor's office. \tJoin the Discussion \tPost a Comment The attack was the second recent one in Camden, an impoverished city across the river from Philadelphia, involving a child and a suspect said to be high on PCP and marijuana. Rivera, 31, was being held in jail awaiting arraignment, which Laughlin said will likely be held Tuesday. Laughlin didn't know if Rivera had an attorney. Police found blood-stained sneakers inside the apartment where Rivera was arrested that matched bloody footprints in the home where Dominick Andujor was stabbed to death, Laughlin said. The boy's 12-year-old sister had her throat slit while she slept in another room. She remained hospitalized Monday at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. The hospital, though, has declined to discuss her condition, citing privacy reasons. While being questioned by investigators, Rivera said he had smoked a combination of marijuana and the hallucinogenic drug PCP before the attack, Laughlin said. On Aug. 22, 33-year-old Chevonne Thomas of Camden allegedly decapitated her 2-year-old toddler and then fatally stabbed herself after smoking a similar combination, known as "wet." Laughlin said there have been several other murders in recent years in which PCP-laced marijuana has apparently played a role. He said the drug combination makes people incoherent, hallucinatory and, in some cases, violent, adding that authorities plan to take steps to curb the drug's market. The children stabbed Sunday were being watched by a 14-year-old girl, authorities said. The teen, who was unharmed, was caring for them because their mother recently underwent surgery and was still in the hospital. Laughlin said the 12-year-old, whose name wasn't released, fled the home after the attack and was found at a neighbor's home a few doors down. Police soon went to the girl's home and were met by another child who ran outside, screaming for help for her brother. The 6-year-old boy was found lying on the floor. story continues belowstory continues below While Rivera was still being sought on Sunday, a woman who lives nearby said he was well-known around the neighborhood and seemed to be a peaceful person. He also was often seen playing with the local children. "People would never think he would do something like this," Nakyta McCray said.
i bet some asshole decided to fuck around with some people by lacing a bunch of weed with PCP. probably didnt realize this shit would happen.
That guy was fucked in the head. I wouldn't blame the drugs. I used to smoke that shit and it doesn't make you violent and crazy like lots of people (who've never tried it) would have you believe. But that's me of course different people can have different reactions to different drugs.
I didn't know you like to get wet. Fuck that shit. Angel Dust is no joke. That one guy ate his sons eyes out of his head and started cutting his own legs off with a hatchet before police arrested him.
yeah i guess i misread something. i thought it said something about several people ending up on pcp for some reason... this guy should visit erowid before he takes drugs people stopped doing like 40 years ago because it made them do fucking wierd ass shit like this.
Something's up, y'all. I smell a propaganda machine at work. This is the second of almost identical incidents in a week. http://forum.grasscity.com/marijuana-news-usa/1096887-can-you-freaking-believe.html
Wow a thread popped up here about a weekago about a black woman high on the same thing that killed her young son
Wow that's just sickening and depressing; I couldn't even finish reading it. This is why I never agree when people say all drugs should be legal. I mean sure personal liberties and all but the things people do under the influence is just fucked up. That's why I say only psychedelics should be legal.
Could be. The guy probably just had weed in his system, and did PCP that particular day. Obviously he did both at the same time, if having THC metabolites in your bloodstream while driving means you're driving under the influence.
Sounds like a WONDERFUL drug. I'm sure many people are wishing it were legal so they can use it. There are just stupid people out there. If you do drugs, you should know what they can do to you. If you don't know, you shouldn't do them. This is an indictment on stupidity rather than any drug.
And how long ago was the unmentionable in question illegalized before this incident? Did its illegalization prevent this tragedy? Never in the history of man has a state prohibition on anything ever made it magically disappear. Unmentionables will get around regardless of legal status, we might as well allow the state to regulate how they do. Prohibitions don't change the demand, they just change the supplier.
