So 4 weeks ago i ordered this glow in the dark masterpiece all the way from California. (i'm from the Netherlands) And after customs held it for 2 weeks and charged me an extra 25 euro it finally showed up at my doorstep.. cracked.. which is kinda disappointing. So is it safe to use it? I know borsilicate is quite heat resistant but i don't want to be inhaling glass shards. The cracks are at the bowl so i dont think it's wise to use epoxy. Maybe i'll just send it to my local glass blower for repairs.. What to do?
Either try to get it replaced, or yeah send it to a blower... but the latter will cost more money, and the former will take more time.. So you face a trade off. Id contact the company first, see if theyll shoot you another one or maybe they'll let you grab a little bubbler at the same price free of charge... Worth a shot. Water pipes FTW
Well if it arrived cracked try to get a replacement from them. If worst comes to worst you can still use it as long as it is still airtight.
Problem solved; Argh! The cracks - the trouble with glow, is that it is just not totally compatible with the expansion of glass, and about 10-15% develop cracks (usually right away, but they sneak by us). The good part is that we have used them in that condition for years - they rarely break still... We are making a few more today and tomorrow, and we'll pick you out a nice dichro and send it out to you this week - and we apologize that you got a broken one!! Thanks for letting me know :]] Looks like a blessing in disguise.
Sorry to hear! The same thing happened to a friend of mine, after putting his pipe into his pocket with his grinder. Glad to hear you're getting a new one though. We still use the cracked one because it's airtight, but who knows how long it'll last.
]: Terrible. I ordered a molino mini, after searching for hours for a site that had the one I wanted in stock, I ordered it, waited, waited and waited.. finally it came. I hit it and showed my sister, her boyfriend grabbed it and dropped it and it shattered to pieces. ]: At least yours came broken and is getting replaced!!!
