Hey all, So I'm currently on my first outdoor plant and the whole grow has gone really smooth and good minus a small bud site that I noticed was developing tiny little webs overnight each day. From my own research, I concluded it was spider mites. Pretty common stuff. We went on for about 2 weeks.. I would remove any webbing I could find from the one bud site, and I would check daily until they did it again which of course I eradicated quickly. Long story short I never saw webs anywhere else on the plant besides that one bud site and after picking off quite a few webs they tried to build I eventually stopped seeing them outright. I gave the plant a good spray of neem oil and since then I haven't seen a single web. My question is.. Am I safe at this point? I've seen no visible damage anywhere and they haven't spun a single web. I guess I'm worried they're just doing their work internally but I can't be sure. Anyone with any advice on how to move forward or what else maybe I should look for I'd greatly appreciate it. The plant is an auto and is on day 63 so she's developed quite a bit of flower which I'm sure makes a difference depending on what approach I should take.
Most outside issues are self correcting. The 2 that are NOT are Powdery Mildew and Caterpillars. Green Cure for the PM and BT for the caterpillars. I spray both products once a week every week. BNW
Spider mites do not go away and if they do it's not for long. You will bring them home on your clothes and they will forever haunt your life.. lol I'm kinda serious. I do not buy used grow equipment for that single reason.. 5 years later .. were the fuck did spider come from... oh yea buddy. 2 things to know.. spider mites attacking the plant can cause the plant to produce more resin more thc as it's the plants natural defense mechanism. Some people allow spider mites to live for so long instead of fighting them if they have NO choice. 2nd neem oil is wonderful I use it allways on my full season but never on autoflowers. I allso only use it before I have a problem in low low low low doses.. Neem oil actually hurts your plant in a tiny way with autoflower you do not want to hurt that baby every no matter how small. I have autos now that grew 4 inches last night. 1 sick day and you could loos that much growth.
I used been oil and ladybugs. I literally would hand pick ladybugs and put on the plant. Usually all gone in 24 hours. The more ladybugs the better. I have access to thousands from just my land. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Lady bugs is a very very good solution. I just ordered 3000 live bugs from amazon yesterday lol just as a procaution. The best idea.. they only cost like 20$
I just bought a smaller batch of the lady bugs for starters.. I really prefer this approach over sprays. Thanks for sharing that!
Any special approach I should take for outdoors? Should I contain the plant somehow I don't want them to just fly away lol
Maybe, but they get into some warm crack for the winter and come back every year, bless their little hearts.
