my thoughts on reality

  1. To start off, I'd like to make an observation. All animals have sensory organs in some fashion, no matter what but what told our DNA we needed to hear and see to do everything? It's as if DNA itself is conscious to that. If there were no living creature on the planet, would there still be sight and sound? I'd like to think reality is based on just human perception, and there are other realities to the other animals that are limited in senses.
In sensory deprivation chambers, everything is cut off and you start hallucinating as if your brain doesn't want you to stop everything. What happens if you stop thinking entirely? Would you go insane or something as far as changing consciousness and elevating yourself to a higher level?
    Just some stoned thinking.

  2. No, you don't go insane.

The act of mental stillness doesn't change consciousness itself but it does allow it to do so. It sets the scene for what is there to become clear in a way it wasn't able to before.

Higher level? Depends what you mean by higher. Higher frequency, vibration, yes. Better? Not sure. More real? Definitely. And that's what it's about. Awareness. Consciousness. Presence. Reality.

  3. Very good thinking, stoned dude...

I especially liked the question, 'What happens if you stop thinking entirely?'

I think if you stop thinking entirely, you become free.

But before you can do that, the process to stop thinking will drive you mad.

  4. wow my friend isnt "if there were no living creatures on this planet, would there still be light and sound" very very very similar to "if a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears or sees it did the tree really fall?" i think thats how its worded but thats what it means thats broadening your philosophy

  5. If you stop thinking, you die.

Thinking and mind power is responsible for everything thats happened up until now.

You stop using your mind, you have successfully killed yourself

    And...

    It's

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?

  6. yeah thats what it is

  7. Perhaps on the subconscious level there is always a kind of thinking going on, so in that sense you never stop thinking. But conscious thinking, the constant chattering mind, etc, can definitely become still without any death occurring. No consequences other than positive ones.

There's a difference between using your mind and thinking. We clearly use our minds on many levels, some of which are beyond what we call thought.

  8. This video explains what it's like to have the part of your brain that dictates your internal chatter disabled and what it feels like to be left with the stillness of the present moment. It's extremely interesting.

    I meant metaphorically

You choose to stop thinking and expanding your mind then youre wasting your time on earth

  10. What would be a solution that is productive and that uses your time on earth wisely?

    Unity

Imagine if all the people in the world had sufficient resources and didnt starve or kill each other?

We could then work together to began to really use the power of our minds to discover new feats of technology, space exploration, subconscious, etc.

If every mind on the planet was working to it's fullest potential can you imagine what we would achieve?

    It would be incredible

  12. we have sufficient resources, they are just not being shared. What would be the solution to preventing everyone from killing each other?

What would technology bring us, what is the ultimate goal of exploration and developing new technology? Once we accomplish that, what then?

  13. kenjamin thats from ted talks i love that site

DNA did evolve to create organs that see and hear so I do believe the actions are happening with or without conscious observation, because without them, DNA wouldn't have evolved to interact with them. It is interesting to assume the other way, but I do believe the vibrations are happening with or without an observer..

The interesting thing about hallucinations that I tend to ask myself is are they due to past encoded experiences or are they completely random projections? It always leads me to think about what a blind person would "see" in a "visual" hallucination, or what a deaf person would "hear". From what I've read, blind people only get visual hallucinations if they had vision in the past..

I do think thinking is a necessary aspect to survival. The subconscious is extremely necessary too, however action is most often taken by the conscious observer due to reacting to the subconscious options.

There would be sound, thunderstorms etc Eyesight? would be difficult with no living creatures.

You would be very relaxed :)

  16. we have sufficient resources, i actually stopped watching a documentary today when it claimed that overpopulation is a real issue.the solution to preventing people from killing each other is to start by fixing the main big things. to me they are stop using oil and get on all renewable energy sources for the entire planet, so we don't destroy the planet too much. dismantle all nuclear missiles and energy plants. remove aspartame, fluoride, trans fat and other harmful manmade, proven to have negative effects on human health, from all our consumed products. work subtly and without provoking groups to remove religions hold from this planet once and for all. start training doctors in nutrition rather than giving a pill for each ailment.start teaching schools a lot differently instead of learning useless shit you should learn stuff of relevance and teach it in a way that promotes unity among human beings and awe in the universe. many things like this will create a thinking shift for the better one towards harmony with everything and that violence is unneccesary unless used for self preservation. this won't stop all the violence but i believe a large percentage of it could be stopped this way.

"What would technology bring us, what is the ultimate goal of exploration and developing new technology? Once we accomplish that, what then?"
what doesn't it bring us? i don't know if you just have a phone in the deep woods hiding from civilization, but where i'm at everything around is from technology. buses, computers, alarm clocks, planes, life saving medicine, agriculture methods,tv,cheetos, porno, even some psychedelics, trips to the moon etc,etc these are the shit technology brings us. if used properly and carefully technology brings more good than bad.

the ultimate goal is to do it because as far as we know no one else ever has. isn't exciting to explore unexplored places, learn what no one else in the universe knows, create machines that have functions never dreampt of before? it would be a waste of millions of years of evolution, giving us the ability to explore and create in the intricate ways we do. to take it for granted would be foolish. i don't know if we would be able to even accomplish that though. is it possible to learn with absolute certainty everything there is to know and explored every single things possible? doubtful. i don't think we have to worry about that for a very very long time if ever. this site has some crazy ides on how in unimaginable times the world would end, one even through mass suicide. it states that we would discover all there is to discover, become depressed and agree to genocide ourselves cause of boredom. some think this is essentially what sparked the universe and our life in which we know nothing about. if you were all knowing wouldn't you be bored as fuck all the time, think trillions and trillions of years. WELCOME TO EXIT MUNDI: A COLLECTION OF END-OF-WORLD SCENARIOS anyways, i hope i answered your few questions with my 2 paragraphs of high thoughts.

  17. To end people killing each other, you make available to them what theyre killing for.

    Food, water, shelter.

Ultimately they kill for money, because money buys those things.

  18. Make a positive impact in society

  19. What do blind people that have never seen, see in their dreams? o_O

  20. Probably unicorns, sasquatch's, and Zeus.

Just messing, I just read some articles on it and it does seem to be a similar case.. If the person lost their sight before the ages of 5-7, then their dreams remain very heavily auditory, but also report a heightened sense of touch, smell, and taste.

If the person lost their sight after the ages of 5-7, then they have a chance to have visual stimuli during dreams at first similar to a person with full vision, but may diminish over time to mostly auditory dreams.
