    Well today I'm in one of my moods. I like these kind of moods because it is one of those "I could care less what you think" kinda moods. Anywhom on to what this threAd is truly about. Since at work today I've seen multiple people wearing shirts that have the "pot leaf" on them so I immediately open up on them (in a total polite way)

    Me- Good evening. I like your shirt
    Customer- Oh, yeah. (not even a thank you)
    Me- So, what's your favorite strain?
    Customer- What?
    Me- Your favorite "type" of weed.
    Customer- There are types?
    Me- Yeah certain kinds have certain effects.
    Customer- Man, I just like weed. I never heard of this strain thing you talkin' 'bout.
    Me- Here's your change sir. Have a great night.

    This happened so far three times tonight and no one around here seems to know about what "strains" are. Damn, these people need some Cannibus education. :D

    So what theory was proved? That people who wear shirts like that don't know anything or are posers? Because that's not true.... just the people whom you met.

    Whaaat even most people I know that don't smoke know what strains are... or atleast know there are different types of weed.

    My theory is that [there] are certain people that only smoke because the people around them do. Because it's the 'in' thing to do.

    yea. i find a lot of people wear 420 happy stuff and don't smoke. thats like me wearing a police uniform.

    Well you gotta take in account most ppl get no named weed so your question isnt really valid since strain names are bullshit unless your buying from dispensory

    I Hate the I smoke "kush" people. You know you ask them wat their tokin and their answer is just kush I cant stand that shit especially in Tha hood first thing out zaggin mouth is kush. Like that's it....its kush and its brown as shit and seedier than an alley in Baltimore. Just fuckin stupid...but yeah op I hear ya on the uneducated 'I smoke because I'm in college' ass fucks

    Well even breaking them down deeper than their "types" (Indica, Sativa, etc.) we could say things like "Red Hair, White Widow, etc." These are all types youu know if you see them.

    What theory... To me it just sounded like some arrogant douche trying to prove that he was more of a stoner than someone else. This was completely self serving; you had no interest in getting to know him, listening to what he has to say/thinks, or what his story is.

    Sounds to me like you saw someone that (you assumed) knew less than you and you decided to demoralize him to make yourself feel elite or entitled.

    My theory, which is supported by empirical evidence, is that new insecure tokers tend to act this way. I could care less if someone knows as much as me, only that we have something in common.

    It's just like high schoolers who fight over who is really a groupie of a band or not. Like "You shouldn't wear that bands shirt because you don't love them as much as I do"... lame

    I dunno man you still learn the strains if you yourself are into it..especially into it enough to own a T-shirt...

    Its not that hard to learn about strains, if they care enough to broadcast that shit to the world they should bone up on their knowledge a little too and expect to be talked to about it...I run into those people all the time OP Im with you, annoys the shit outta me...

    lol... You're a funny guy Bong. I'd say this whole thread is filled with the pretentious newbies that most seasoned tokers don't care to be around. Whenever I see some flaming about who is truly a stoner and who's a poser I just laugh... what a stupid thing to care about.

    I hope that we can all just share our joy of a wonderful herb. No reason to segregate and hate on people who you really don't know besides some pre-concieved materialistic notions.

    I know where all of you are coming. As to the one's that object on my opinion I'll tell you me perspective on it. Yes, I am one of those types of people that I like to know "what it is" that I'm doing. The more I know the better equipped I am. Right now it could be 100% worthless, but at some point in my life I might need to know something about the strains, or that you won't get high off smoking of the male plant. It all boils down to Knowledge is Power!
