hey all, these are the tattoos i plan to get in the near future, when i can afford them both at the same time. for those of you who dont know, they are both symbols from an anime called full metal alchemist, and the one on my chest is al's blood rune and the one on my back is flamel's cross, which ed, the main character has on a jacket in the same spot. anyways, they both have meaning to me, not only showing my love for the show, but also multiple meanings in their own. the rune in the show symbolizes a binding between a soul and an object or body. this shows my belief that i am my soul which resides in my body. also this rune, if broken down, the ancient meanings of them are as follows: the circle with a dot in the middle is an ancient alchemist symbol for gold. they also used gold so symbolize purity. the crossed, star like lines, is the symbol for the quintessence, or spirit. and the flame in the middle is an acient symbol for souls. this shows my desire for purity of my spirit and soul. on to the cross. the original meaning of the cross is as follows. the crown symbolizes god, the cross symbolizing Christianity, and the winged serpent representing satan or evil. all in all, with the serpent being crucified, it symbolizes Christianity in a triumph over evil. i am christian, although slightly different beliefs from all recognized denominations, and i feel this shows my desire for those beliefs to help me triumph over evil in my life. so, what do you all think?
