Ok, these girls have been planted for about a week and one of my 6 sprouts have started developing some grayish-brown spots. The strain is Dutch Dragon from Paradise seeds, under several 26 watt CFL's as well as a 100W cfl actual wattage. So far I haven't touched them with nutes and I've had them in scott's potting mix cut with peat moss vermiculite and pearlite watered with tap only when they're getting dry.
the peat moss and scotts soil are too much nutes for a sprout Scotts soil is very much like Miracle Grow too strong for sprouts
The scott's does have added phosphorus and I know better than to use something with nutes but so far it's the best I can find. Our old white widows responded well to the mixture. I basically just want to know what is bringing on those brown spots. It's not something I've seen before and it's progressing quickly.
you know the soil is an issue, and just because the last strain was able to handel the soil doesnt mean diddly with another strain, this sprout may not be as healthy as the others peatmoss contains upto 1.4 % nitrogen & PH can vary from very acidic to alkaline pre added ferts in the soil.....this is what you get gluck
