Background: I am planning on planting perhaps 2-3 plants at a time. Most likely 2 and I plan to use 3-4 CFL light sockets that I will make a movable fixture for them that I can lower and raise. I plan to line the inside with an isolating mylar. I will be doing LST too! My questions: 1. In that space how much heat will come through the box? The exterior is wood. 2. With LST, is approximately 18 inches of plant okay? (Given 6 inches for the pot and the light out of the 24 inches of length.) Is that not enough space? Can I get the plant to reach no longer than 18 inches? 3. Anyone with a similar setup; What would this yeild for me? 4. Am I crazy to try to grow in such a small area?
dont. do it. yees, you're insane. just can't do it. unless you had your own custom CFLs made for you.... hahaha nvm.
1. Not a lot, but you'll still need a fan/ventilation system. 2. 18 inches of plant is fine, (did you subtract the room for the light?) but you may end up needing a bigger pot. Prepare to employ some excellent LST techniques if you want a decent watt per gram yield. 3. Not very much. 4. Personally, if I'm going to put forth the effort involved with a good start to finish grow, I'm not going to skimp out in any major areas. 2 feet of total height is way too small for my tastes. My advice would be to pick a squat strain, such as lowryder or a variation, and consider trying hydro with much more vertical room if you have any previous growing experience.
