    First post, FTW.

I have done everything in the following pics in 45 minutes with crap I have lying around my house. This is why it looks like shit. Only thing I have left is buying a light dimmer switch for the soldering iron so it doesn't burn the weed, thus making it an electric pipe.:p

Anyway, here are pics. I apologize if they are too large, but I don't think they're too bad.

(BTW, the bowl is somewhat on the slim side, but its decently deep and good enough for a vape's worth of weed.)

  2. I would not smoke/vape out of that contraption.

Welcome to GC btw, I'm Dayto.

  3. Doesn't look too bad. Let us know how it works.

Personally, I would have tried to have the air hoses facing more parallel with ends opposing to try to get some circular air flow, but I have no idea if it would work that way or not.

  4. Why not vape out of it? The jar is a thuroughlly cleaned pasta sauce glass jar, and the bowl and screw are clean brass. The iron is an old 25w one, and it is fine. The jar is airtight and all the parts that involve the vapor (aka jar and tubes) are 100% safe. Also, the carb will work from anywhere, as a vacuum will draw air from anywhere if air is being removed, aka sucking vapor. The coffee can is just a base and serves no machanical purpose.

  5. not ideal, but definitely better than dropping tons of cash for one, especially if it works. what's good, I'm Jordan.

  6. Sup, man.

Yeah I barely smoke weed, mostly cuz I gotta keep grades up and focus on lots of stuff, and my mom still thinks of it as a 'gateway drug,' but when I do, I'd rather vape to stay healthy. Plus, this doesn't look like a vape too much, not that she would even know what that is, and I make lots of DIY electronic stuff, so I'm safe lol.

  7. LOL. Yeah, if you do any electronics, there isn't a chance in the world that any non weed smoker would know what that was in an electronics desk, or even in the average garage. :)

You tried it yet? I'm really curious how it would work. It's going to take some practice to get the temp where you want it. Actually, I wonder if getting a tiny little ceramic dish and setting it on top of the soldering iron wouldn't help. It would make the vape take a fair bit longer to heat up, but you'd have that comparably thick ceramic spreading the heat it into the weed evenly and making it take longer to burn it. In addition, the ceramic would be cooled a little by the air flow as you suck, so it just *might* make it easier to regulate the temp of the weed.

My guess is that you would just heat the weed until you start to see thick vapor and start to suck.

Let us know how it works. I'm really, really curious.
