we've known for a while that this neighborhood isn't the best and that there are sometimes break-ins but for a few years we've done well by keeping our cars parked in the driveway and usually having at least 1 person home if not multiple cars in the driveway. last night i guess under the cover of fireworks someone must have cased the street and checked for unlocked cars and happened to find her's open. i don't want to think that someone targeted her but i guess it is possible. has anyone else been robbed? it's a pretty shitty feeling to think that there are people who prowl around at night and look for opportunities to thieve. not even a week ago a friend of ours parked in the street and had her window bashed out and her phone stolen off the seat. now it's become too much. we can't move immediately though we've already started to look for a new house in a better location. i'm not sure what else we can do. sometimes i think it's time to buy some ammunition. i'm not looking for trouble but what else can you do? i figure if this is the way it is, arm yourself.
ya a few times someone stole an engine i was rebuilding with an 800$ adapter plate on the back that's no use to anyone but me had someone break into my car and steal a broken fog machine but kicked open the bottle of fog and man that shit is nasty smelling after awhile like someone stabbed a raccoon and threw it in my car and left it in the sun... watched someone open the door to my truck once seen me and hauled ass i stopped leaving things in my car and I dont lock the doors anymore cuz plz dont break my window i cant afford another one that and I disconnect the fuel pump power now super easy to do in a honda
get a dog! for like 2k you can even order a dog that is pre-trained as a police dog. I don't know how much money you have but that's not much for complete home security.
yea, it would be nice to have a dog capable of physically protecting you if need be. we have a small "alarm" dog who was inside because of the fireworks. on a quiet night they probably wouldn't have made it onto the driveway without her going insane barking even if she was inside. whenever i sculpt my own property i'll probably have multiple dogs covering any potential point of entry lol. kinda scraping by right now.
Long story short, I got robbed at gunpoint last night. All they got was my phone but it was terrifying. My friend on the other hand got an insane amount of shit stolen from him, I feel so bad for the guy.
Someone took my stereo out of my truck and ransacked my shit. They thankfully didn't break a window but it still cost me 85 bucks for a new stereo, and I have to put it in myself. Why can't people get a job and make an honest living? Fucking scumbags
word, 2K for a pre-trained dog? fuck that.... all you need is 2 pitbulls and a shotgun an NOBODY is gonna wanna fuck with you.
lol I know kids that would still steal your car in under thirty seconds even if you have pits and a shottie, unless you have your cars gated in at the end of the driveway and the dogs running around like crazy. You shoot at the thief in most states and you're committing a crime.
Thanks to my wrotwiler I haven't had any problems in my time. Just let them mofo's know who there messing with.
I had my sound system stolen once, while I was at work no less. Was working in banking, in operations. Worked the 2nd shift. Wasn't in the best neighborhood Got out at like midnight to find my car broken into and my subs and amp stolen from the back. Luckily I had my headunit on me so they didnt get that. It was only about 250 bucks worth of stuff, plus the window, But still pissed me the hell off. My girlfriends car got stolen about a year ago, from the parking lot of a train station no less. The crazy thing is that after the car was stolen a cop ran the plates on one of the expressways. But because my girlfriends sister hadn't reported the car stolen yet they didn't pull over the driver. They ended up finding her car parked at some resteraunt. No damage other than the ignition was popped.
she got the car back with no damage and whoever took it left some things behind. i'll have to admit, i'm a bit surprised. it would seem at least 1 girl stole the car and left behind some cheap jewelry, makeup and a cash advance receipt with her fucking name on it we facebooked her and it's not really adding up. sorority girl, goes to a decent school and looks to be very christian. wtf?
career criminals man, your sister probably wasn't the first person she hit up I drive a Jeep with a soft top and getting my shit jacked worries me every day. I don't leave anything in the car I really value and I don't lock the door, I'd rather someone just open up the door and find only my change and stock stereo system than someone to try a locked door then resort to slashing my soft top ($400-500 atleast to replace) because they'd also probably be too dumb to realize that the windows unzip in hose things. I really want to get a sticker that says "Attention thief, this cars door is unlocked so please do not break any of my shit. If you really want it, there is $3.00 in change in the console you are welcome to"
