Alright so here are my 7 babies 3- Bullrider (the 3 middle ones) 2- 91 Chem Dog ( 2 back ones) 1- Purple Kush (front right) 1- XJ13 (Front Left) There under 6 100watt CFLs daylights the medium is Fox Farms Ocean Forest and been watering every two days They been under 24/7 lights for 3 weeks and im going to be switching to 18/6 next Sunday I will also start feeding them Advanced Nutrients Sensei grow part A and B One Question All three of my bullriders are already growing white hairs and have what it looks like to me white crystals on the leaves and stems (thc / resin??) and its really sticky ..is this ok? ill be in veg in for 6 weeks and then switch to my 400watt HPS for flowering time One other question When switching to Nutrients for flowering is it ok to start in full strength since theyll be use to it from veg nutes or do i have to start in small dosages again
I would flip much sooner with only 6 cfls no matter what their claim is.your 400 will have a tough time supporting those with their varying top lines with that much vegn
flip meaning switchin to 18/6? and i dont understand what your trying to say that my hps willl have a tought time
no sorry for my quickness. I mean to 12/12 I never go 18/6 I go 24/7 to 12/12 Your 400 will have a tough time keeping the buds big if you veg 7 plants for too long.they will survive im sure but the buds will be smaller and your finished weight smaller than if you cut your plant count.rock it though and keep us posted
that or go 12/12 sooner as the 400 will have a hard penetrating the foliage of a lard plant.you can get good buds off a 400 if you manage your plant
ok i see what your saying well i was planning to spread out the plants way more than the pics show when i was going to switch to hps so theyll be more spread out and get more light through the reflection off the mylar that i have set around since my hps is gonna be a decent size way bigger than my cfls will this help my issue of having my plants large and being able to get enough light all around?
you will want to keep the 7 bunched up to remain as close as possible to the 400. thats the problem you cant have a big ol bush when you have 7 of them competing for a lil400rock it just kick to 12/12 sooner
alright cool thanks for the info mike very helpful ill see what i can do now i still need some questions answered... All three of my bullriders are already growing white hairs and have what it looks like to me white crystals on the leaves and stems (thc / resin??) and its really sticky ..is this ok? When switching to Nutrients for flowering is it ok to start in full strength since theyll be use to it from veg nutes or do i have to start in small dosages again anyone?
your bulls do not have crystals they get them in flower.unless they are auto flowers. white hairs in veg mean the plant is maturing. aka. good. and ya you gota start over with flowering nutes 1/4 strength first.
Yup, the plant can shown "maturity" before the flip is made,....just means it's growing nice and strong and is readey for the next stage. That's way too many plants for a 400. I have 4 under each of mine right now and it's still too many,....2 is the magic # for a 400 IMO. Remember,....quality growing will get you to the place u want to be even better than bulk growing. We have a few members here (scrog growers) who have hit the 1lb mark with 2 plants.
Well this is good news. I must be doing something right then lol. I highly doubt there auto flower so thats out of the question. Thanks devil lover i figured i would have to start off 1/4 strength when switchin so is it ok to do 1/4 strength for 2 weeks then 1/2 for two weeks then full strength im plannin to do for both veg and flower (im aware of flushing) Alright now my concern is my HPS looks im going to have to up it to 1000watt will this be more efficient?
It will be much stronger but for "efficiency", a 600 is the most efficient. I'd use 2 x 600's in your situation.
I dont think ill have enough room to fit 2 hoods in my grow spot would u mind explanning how a 1000w which is stronger would be less efficient than a 600w ? is because its too strong? but then 2 x600 add up to 1200? a bit confusing but i would like to understand this concept
There's a lot to it it but it's been calculated,....power usage vs light footprint, yadda yadda. 600 is the winner for efficiency
Ok i got one more question grasscity members when first applying nutes im aware of startin it at a 1/4 strength. how long should i keep using 1/4 strength before usin 1/2? then to full?
If the 1/4 feed goes fine,...up it a little for the next feed and so on. Watch the plants, they'll tell you when they are happy or what they need. You want it so that JJUST the very tips of the fan leaves go brown. That means you gave the perfect amount. Notice the tip
Thank YOu LBH. i have read most of this site and that is the first time i have seen that spelled out. Thank You.
