Alright guys, i am in the process of germinating my seeds right now. let me tell you guys what space i have and am planning to use, it's six feet long by 3 feet wide...at least 8 or 9 feet tall. It's a closet in my basement, which is pretty dark, i don't think i'll have to worry about light getting in, but tonight i will double check. Now, i am wanting to do this right, and i was reading a few guides, and i was wondering how i could go about doin the exhaust fan? and also, if anyone could help describe the SOG technique to me?
you should be ok without a fan if you just open the door a few times a day, and how many plants are you planning on having in that area?
well, to start i was thinkin maybe 4...5 at most, just to get a bit of experiance under me before i decide on SOG or what not, as this is pretty much my first time growin
What type of lights are you planning on using? SOG is best if you have the penatration power of some 400watt+ HPS, if your running anything less try maybe a SCROG grow. Also if your running any kind of lights your still going to want a fan in there, first to help get rid of the heat and to blow on the plants to make them grow thicker and stronger. depending on ur lights u will just need it blowing on them, not ducting reqired.
there is no outlet in there, but it looks like there used to be one, so i just gonna try and wire one up..i just planted the sprouting seeds into pots and have them setup in the closest...gonna buy chains to hang the lights, and a HPS tomarrow, or sometime within the week...and how important is it to cover the pots for the seedlings? and how much like to they need until i put a floro over em?
hi m8, OK here goes! Yer space is too big for a 400w hps, yer going to need some kind of extraction i use 2 of these just for extraction http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SLTD160.html then I have 8 passive intakes coming from an open window, the more fresh CO2 you get in their the happier yer plants will be. My space is 3 x 5ft and 6ft tall I have a 400whps and a 600w hps, my old space was 3x3 for a 400w hps that's a perfect size for 400w. The intakes are at the lowest point of the room, the outakes at the highest! You will need some oscilating fans in their to move the nwe CO2 around. Also when posting give as much info about your space and grow, soil or Hydro, what soil, nutes, how often yer feeding, the more info the better! ope that helps ya m8........... P.S I would also try and reduce the height to 6ft, also is it damp down their? If so yer gona have big probs with humidity. Whats on the walls of the room! If it's plasterboard and it's NOT damp it will be when you start growing. Do you have a temp and hygrometer to wach temps and humidity.
you have a picture of your setup by chance? and how do you get the hoses or whatever you use to exhaust outside of the encloser? i don't want to be cuttin lots of holes and such as it is my mom's house, and she's cool with me growin, but if i was to start cuttin all over the place, she'd have a cow lol
My extraction goes in to my attic where there is an open window, my intake comes from an open window......................... and yes I have plenty pics of my set up....................lol.... yer gona need to sort that out m8, plants need fresh co2, the more the better, so you gota get yer head in to how to get frsh air in and out.................
