First I would like to introduce myself, my name is JT. I recently purchased a bong from Captain Ed's on Reseda in California. I bought the bong for $250 with a diffuser and a bowl (as seen). I've been researching a little on this site and on the internet but I haven't seen my bong. Most of the blue label's I've seen are striped or have a hexagonal base. Mine doesn't. I have a couple of questions: 1) Is it genuine? (I'm assuming it is because Captain Ed's is a respected head shop and they had some Sheldon Blacks in stock as well) 2) Is it 5mm (the asshole who sold it to me told me this but I'm starting to think its 3.2) 3) Was it worth $250? (I saw how some people were getting their blue label for around $100) 4) Is it a german made roor or an american made roor? (I'm guessing its American but the same asshole who sold it to me said it was purchased from the catalog and shipped there from Germany, etc) Here are some pics Good day!
Im gonna say its legit, as far as price no fucking clue. But honestly if your happy with it, and you dont miss that cash who cares what you spent
I have no idea whether Captain Ed's is an authorized RooR dealer and I'm no RooR expert but I notice many imperfections in that bong. The lip doens't look right, the base looks odd, the joint itself looks really off (bad weld, odd angle, placed too low), and the ice pinches don't look right either. I'm simply comparing your pics to my RooR though..
I go to captain eds all the time. Last time the guy showed me a bunch of fake roors and he admitted some of them were. Do you have a roor diffuser in it ?
base looks awkward, kinda small and the angle fo the join looks to big thats just wat i think comparing to my roor aswell. and is there three clamps? if not, u no for sure its not a roor lol
Definitely blown in the United States, and I have seen other RooRs with the dark blue labels, I think it looks so classy. But I got my 3.2mm 18" RooR for $180, so for a 5mm to go for 250 that seems pretty normal in my eyes.
If ROOR USA quality control was as good as the Germans those specs you quoted would be good tools to sort out fakes.... but because it isn't there is a lot more variation in genuine ROOR USA tubes. Not sure what you mean by bad weld and angle though... the weld looks pretty clean and the angle isn't bad either. I've seen much worse on ROOR USA tubes. The OP's tube is a genuine ROOR.us tube. It looks more 3.2mm than 5... a picture of the thickness of the base would help a lot in sorting that out for sure though. $250 is far too much for a 3.2 but right on the money for msrp of a 5mm. You can definitely get them cheaper... but that is the typical shelf price or right around it.
can people please not say fake and what not when they dont know what theyre talking about. That roor seems normal to me, but not roor.de. Good pick-up OP
Sup_ There are three ice pinches, you can clearly see that in the pics. And Captain Ed's with fake roors? Maybe he was saying how they were US blown and not German. I'm bummed the salesman deceived me though, could have just told me they were US blown - I would have saved money going to La La Land in Venice (I went to Captain Ed's instead because I was hearing about how a lot of the pieces in Venice were fake). Now that I know its US blown I'm kinda irked at myself since I would have definitely saved money by picking something up at Venice, my homie's next door neighbor is the owner of La La Land (authorized roor dealer?) But I do like this piece a lot, Here are some more pics of the base I will be on the hunt for a beaker.de Good Day!
Nice bong man! Who cares if its not a german Roor or not, I know I dont.. I`d hit the shit out of that. $250 is a bit much in my opinion.. I got this piece which is almost exactly like it http://forum.grasscity.com/toking-tools/529513-one-my-favorite-bongs.html That I paid $75 for.
It's a 5mm for sure. No offense man but your bong is not almost exactly like this one. The difference in value and quality here definitely gels with the price difference between the tubes.
