  3. Same thing I did for a long time said my LED was keeping my plants short. Well only because I wasn't following the directions. How far is your LED from plant?

  7. What medium are you using and how much perlite did you add?

  8. I would just use your newer "600" led for vegging; I would also tuck those fan leaves below the branches to encourage them to peek out.

  9. I’m just using Fox Farm soil I didn’t add anything to it

  11. I'm not sure that answered his question? He has 1 (ONE) plant...I used 4x23w CFL and still had a bigger plant than his during my 3rd week of veg. Matter of fact, 1 week in, my single plant was looking just as nice as yours in the pic except mine didn't stretch as much.

I notice these CMH guys coming into people's threads blaming their choice of lighting for the growth issues. Yes, lighting plays a HUGE role during a plant's life. However, there are several other factors in growing a plant. The 300W LED he started out with will veg a single plant without a problem. Granted it may take longer, but he doesn't need to invest in a 315 CMH for one plant.

CMH lights aren't really the choice most people go with for their first grow. It can be done, but you can have all of the best equipment in the world and still not have the knowledge to grow a plant. Hence why some people have budgets for their first grow.

To the OP: Like someone already stated...huge pot, small plant. Your roots are constantly growing outwards and downwards in veg. Once they have reached a certain point of growth, you will notice more growth above the soil. Until then, go easy on the watering and nutrients. Your plant is looking good, just a little slow grower.

  13. Nah Papa your opinion is respected around here. I wasn't offended, and I agree with your statement. For the original poster's first grow, I was trying to simplify it for him before telling him to change out his grow equipment. He will learn, as we all do. Me personally, I'm rocking a 150w HPS with several 23w CFLs for supplemental/side lighting (knowing I will only grow 1-2 plants at a time). CMH does look appealing to me though!

  14. When I first started i grew only outdoors. so the first year my plant were about a ft tall. Only using the sun 9 hours a day and flower right away. So than i was told about the amount of light hours needed. So than i brought my plants in and gave them 8 hours of flourecents to keep them from flowering. So they would be a little stretched but I could get them to like 3 ft and than set out to flower. I than bought a t5 4way and though I was balling. I just dont and never liked the size of plants with those little led lights. I realize that most of us are broke and that's why we are doing this. My point is even if u grow 1 plant. Anything will get u a bigger plant with more yield. Hell u can get a 315 cmh or the new samsung led strips for 225 or less and could grow 4 plants. I am so used to telling it like it is with my OGs lol.

  15. Well I can just say this the hortilux bulb by far as the best in the business I'm thinking I can put this thing up against any grow light there is. 5 save my pennies to get two of them and they were 420 a piece including the bulb. The nice thing about CMH bulbs as they go for like 2 years of constant use I think it somewhere around 20,000 hours. So at the price of MH and HPS bulbs a factor that end and the CMH becomes more affordable. I bought a generic one and ran it for about a year with the Philips Argo multi Spectrum bulb in it and it did okay but the plants under this hortilux bulb are twice as big
