(The Parts in CAPS are my parents yelling at me lmao) Long story short My parents found my stash in my room! (They are indian btw) My parents FREAKED OUT my dad yelled at me saying he is going to call the cops, kick me out the house, and said i am not his son anymore! my mom calmed him down but was still equally pissed. I stood their and listened to their rant about how weed will kill me and that I am ruining my future by smoking weed. I then tried to calmly explain on how no one has died from weed and how it has medical benefits with research to back it up but my dad cut me off saying STOP TRYING TO ARGUE WITH ME! even though I was being mature as i can. I also told them that weed has not affected my grades (3.4 gpa sophomore year) and how my life is not revolved around it but they told me THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT GRADES THEY JUST WANT ME TO STOP TAKING POISON! Knowing they won't listen to me I just stood their and listened to their ignorant comments about bud and stuff after that they cut me off from friends, phone, etc. (except this laptop Ayyyy Lmao) made things worse since i am on spring break and now i have nothing to do plus i had a booty call but i guess not anymore cause of this haha but My friend's parents caught my friend but her parents were mature and tried to listen to her side about weed and it;s benefits. I understand that i should not be smoking weed under my parents roof and all that but I am just bothered on how they did not try to listen to my points about bud and Barbarically yell at me! Do y'all think my parents over reacted? or how they treated me was acceptable? EDIT: Well I woke up this morning to find out my parents went to Verizon and printed out all my text messages and banned me from all my friends (yet they told me i should go out and play and shit to avoid being inside all day WTF) They even banned my cousin who smokes but he is EXTREMELY close to the family and is 3.5 gpa in college I TRIED for the last time today to say weed is less dangerous than than alcohol which i regret because they said DO YOU WANT TO BE A HOOD RAT IN THE CRACK HOUSE STOP JUSTIFYING IT so now i know i should just give up and live in this ignorant ass house haha they even planed to take me out of school because they are scared of me talking to the dealers lmao and home school me for 11 and 12th grade which is BULLSHIT Indian parents man wtf....
I always feel so bad when I read stories like this. When I told my dad he was cool with it and he even asked to leave him some and he'd pay for it. But I did a solid for my dad and he was like yeah go ahead and do it whatever you want in the house. He even had a dream I opened a pot store. <3
Oh and for the record I gave him the dankest shit I ever had and he, high as hell, told me I must be bionic to smoke that stuff lol. But I'd say your parents overreacted. You will not lose your life to weed. I am on track for graduating college 3rd year in almost straight As this semester and work 20 hours a week. You control your life and the Mary helps you along.
I have to wonder if they were raised under a rock. Transfer to a college in Colorado or Washington state.

Damn and i thought my parents were bad but damn man that is baaaad. ive been through this before and sorry to say that theres not much you can do if they wont even listen to what you have to say. best thing you can do is convince them that you quit smoking, even if you havent. trust me if they wont listen to you, they never will, and the best thing for your family life would be to lie like a little bastard to them. contrary to what society will have you believe, honesty isnt always the best policy, in fact it almost never is in this kind of scenario.

I always hate hearing stories where parents tell their kids that they pretty much don't care about them anymore, or that they're no longer family. I feel like that is something you should never say as a parent, especially not over something as petty as marijuana. People can have their differences without resorting to anything like that.
I was in the EXACT same situation. My parents are foreign too (Ghanian) and found my stash and wouldn't listen to ANYTHING I tried to say about bud. My dad was enraged. Phone and iPod and car gone for a month (just got it back). They say it will kill me, I will have no future, won't make a living etc. My mom cried for WEEKS, that's how brainwashed she is. It will get better man I promise. Hang in there though cause it will be a rough ride. My mom is ok but it's been weeks and my dad won't talk to me normally still. I don't know if your parents are as much of assholes as my dad, but just know I feel for you and I know how it is. Feel free to message me about it
18+...move out. sure life will be harder. college will take longer, but if you work your way through college, you will graduate with a high credit score, no debt in student loans...and no parents that refuse to listen to modern science because they are brainwashed sheep.
I second this. My parents also want to choose my college major for me which is a different tale. I'm saving money now & am leaving this summer. I assume you aren't 18 since you sound like more of a sophomore in HS than in college, but I could be wrong.
