i got some weed curing its been in a jar for a few days ive opened the jar n theres a strong smell of tea not weed. have i done something wrong?
Supposedly not saying this is right in very high and do believe I've seen on here that it's is normal and that around week two of curing it comes back I really have no idea...... Lol too done bro....
Yeah man it takes a while for it to get a good smell. 2 weeks - 1 month for smell, and the longer the better. Shaving the entire bud with small scissors also helps the smell a lot. You can smoke that trim and its pretty good, just tastes bad.
oh right so this is common? i mean the weed looks good but smells just like Tea i did harvest early coz the top bud started to rot but tricones were clear n cloudy didnt fancy the rot spreading much more it really does look good its the best ive had on my 3rd attempt

I really would suggest giving the buds a good trim. Just shave the whole thing, but not too deep. Make sure the buds aren't moist at all. And give it another 2 weeks and it should smell good.
Post pics to make sure that the actual buds are matured and dried properly. Also, did you trim the buds of all the leaves before jarring them? Also you want to wait until the buds are really dry and brittle before jarring because there is moisture in the stem, and it gets redistributed evenly through the buds during curing. When you harvest, you should notice your buds start to smell less and less like they did when growing, and more like freshly cut grass, and a hay like smell. That's from all the chlorophyll breaking down. When they are fully dried and ready to be jarred they should have a faint cannabis smell with a 'green' smell over it. As you cure the cannabis smell becomes stronger and the green smell will fade. If you harvested early though, it might never smell really good because most of the aroma develops near the end of the growth cycle.
yeah yeah been cutting leaf off for about a week now it smelt like diesel when it was on the plant heres some of it the rest is in them jars. its sour diesel.
Looks good, just open up the jars and mix around the buds for at least 10 minutes a day for the first week. Then do it 2-3 times a week the next week, then once a week then on. Usually after 2-4 weeks it starts smelling really good.
Don't worry, it takes about 4 weeks for the real good smell to come back. It's never gonna be as potent smelling as it was on the plant, but you can get close.
