So my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago. In the beginning it was no big deal just some surgery and a little radiation, as they believed the cancer had not spread. Well now they have discovered that its gotten into her bone marrow and surrounding tissue. So the road has gotten alot harder, i.e. 20 weeks of intense chemotherapy. My mom has always been against marijuana in all its forms, and has never smoked in her life, true believer of the government bullshit.

So anyway she just had her first chemo treatment, and that shit fuckeeddddd her up big time. She cant sleep, eat, has hot flashs, cold spells, and is in constant pain. My mom knows about my MMJ card, and ive been debating long and hard on weather to ask her if she wanted some relief... I finally got the courage last night to confront her about it, and to my ENORMOUS surprise she said she was totally open to any kind of help in any form.

So im going to go the dispensary ASAP and filling a box with edibles, tintures, creams, lotions, you name it. She doesn't want any herb, as she doesnt want to inhale any burning substances, but I bet this whole thing will really open her eyes to the medical utility of cannabis / THC.

This thread is not a "poor me, mommy has cancer" so no need for condolences. Im just so happy my mom is being open minded enough to accept the relief that I know cannabis can offer her.

My MMJ card is finally helping someone who truly needs it.

  2. i am sorry your mom has cancer, never a good thing...but at the same time, im glad for her to be open enough to try new possibilities to aide her in her struggles.
im also very glad to hear that youre fully hooking her up with ALL her options on top of it all, its shows a massive amount of support and caring.
thankfully, ive yet to dodge the cancer bullet twice and pray almost daily that i get to be cancer free and that it doesnt happen to boo either.
keep being supportive, man! and be sure to let her know that even "strangers" are sending good vibes her way ;)

  3. awesome.

I hope it provides your moms with some well earned relief.

    This is why we fight!

  4. amazing what you're going through, all the best wishes.

as someone whos seen the effects of marijuana on myself for a long time, i have no doubt in my mind that your mother wont benefit. no doubt at all.

i believe it kick starts the living shit of your immune system, digestion/appetite, and tons of other shit, that just make you feel good.

im happy your mothers finally opened up, but atleast she has and will hopefully get help. it''d be cool if you got her some stoner comedies and cool things to watch, one she becomes a stoner soon time.
see your mom sitting there watching cheech and chong lol

  5. Sad that a thing as devastating as cancer is what it is going to take for alot of ppl in this country to really open there eyes to the hundreds of benefits that something so benign can offer. While your mom is taking her medicine be sure to remember to tell her how many ppl are in jail because they were trying to help there sick mothers.

truely hope she feels better soon...

  6. dang that's pretty cool. hope the mmj really helps.

    has she used it yet?

  7. Wow dude sorry to hear....let us know how it has helped her!

  8. Sorry to hear. I lost my father to cancer so I know how hard it can be.

But that is awesome of you to help her out with marijuana.

I would definitely love to hear her opinions after she has tried it.

  9. Get a vape, maybe she'll try it that way too?

  10. thanks for the much needed vibes. Im sure she can use as many as possible

    Exactly, couldn't agree more

No Its gonna take me a little bit to get everything boxed up and shipped out to her. We live 1000 miles apart as of now.

Thanks to everyone for all the support and good vibes. I will defiantly let you guys know what she thinks about it all, and how much relief she gets from it.

  11. Just an aside, if she is on Cisplatin, that can make chocolate taste like s**t for some people, so she may need really bland eatables, like yogurt. And her mouth is going to get very sore, so rice krispies treats, stuff with nuts in it, may be too "sharp". Just expect some major changes in taste perception and oral sensitivity issues.

  12. Thanks for the heads up. If all else fails... tinctures :D

Two semi-flavorless drops under the tongue should be tolerable in any state of sickness

  13. Good for both of you! I hope that she gets some relief.

My mom is a 22 year survivor, and was diagnosed when she was 32. She fully supports medicinal use, and thinks that she would have had a much easier time eating. The strongest legal herb she could get back then was a BarleyGreen supplement.

  14. It's funny cuz i had a dream about my mom finally seeing the medical value of marijuana and we went to a dispensary and were picking out strains ,but sadly it was only a dream.

  15. glad to hear yet another story where mmj could potentially be helping someone, my best wishes to your mom and i forget who mentioned it but some1 above me said something about getting her to try a vaporizer....
one quick question however, what was your condition that allowed you to get a medi card?
just curious as i live in west virginia and mmj hasnt quite caught on over here

  17. Hon, here are several studies on breast cancer in my "Granny Storm Crow's MMJ Reference list". Your Mom needs to read them! (wouldn't hurt to give -or anonymously mail- the studies to her doctors)

The suggestion of a vaporizer was an excellent one! I have an asthmatic friend (with additional medical problems) who had trouble smoking. Every time she inhaled, she'd cough and cough! I let her try my Vapor Brothers vape and she inhaled....and smiled :D!
We ordered her a vaporizer about 5 minutes later.

And warn Mom that edibles can take anywhere between 20 minutes to 3 hours to have an effect- that second brownie eaten just before the first cuts in can cause an unpleasant overdose. (experience speaking here- with a scar to prove it  )

    Hope that helps,

  18. You should look up Rick Simpsons Hemp Oil.

  19. I used severe pain from a spinal injury in football. But honestly im not really in legitimate need of MMJ (shhhhhh;)), im mainly just protecting myself from legal prosecution.

Thanks for the list and the PM. Ill defiantly give these a look over.

  20. Good on you man!

Hope she gets well. If possible, you should get her some cannabis oil, to eat. That may even kill the cancer. Lots of sleep, nutritious and simple food and some cannabis oil has been known to work wonders.

All the best of luck from me to you and your family.
