Hi guys. Just wanted to share with you my first grow. Since i lacked money and space i decided to make my own box as cheaply as possible, and from materials which i had to spare. The growbox i made was made cheaply from bits of wood i had around the house, the frame was made from thin bits of pine wood (around £5 worth) and the panels from cheap mdf (£7 or so worth) panels are nailed onto the frame and not ducktaped. Ducktape was only there to hide sharp nail edges. A few bathroom air vents where used to tidy up fan outlets and inlets. The fans used where cheap computer fans which again i found laying around the house, i used a 12v 1.25a modem power supply to power the two case fans. There is also a computer fan speed controller to regulate fan output. The inside is lined with reflective radiator foil. The light reflector is made from 1mm mild steel sheeting which i bent into shape, the two lights are (65w 6700k & 85w 2700k CFL) and seem to be doing ok. and cost a total of around £50. So far the box has done great, but my largest plant is now touching the lights! So not sure what i can do about that. The plants are lowryders. The middle and biggest plant is a lowryder #1. The two plants on the left and right are lowryder #2 and diesel Ryder, and are quite far behind, also very light green and quite unhealthy looking which is strange as they contain the same soil, nutes, lights as the lowryder #1. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Might want to note that the first lowryder had a very big and green seed, whilst the two others i received were pale and small looking, i potted them anyway, i should have complained to the company. Thanks for looking.
your ladies are looking nice. I want to build something really similar to this- maybe a little taller though :X have dimensions?
I would recommend taller! I have already run out of vertical space. Can't remember the exact dimensions but its about 80cm tall.
My light fell down today onto the main plant breaking the stem in half! Managed to fix the stem but im still unsure if it will pick up. Damn, damn!
