How come everyone is so quick to compare artists? Back in the day with paintings they wouldnt be too different, but they would have certain aspects that attracted people. Now say you liked one artist more than another, I doubt you would say that artist is a "faailure, he is messing up the TRADITION of ART" just because its a tad, out of the "norm" You have Pablo Picasso [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQTO0BakU6c]YouTube - Pablo Picasso Paintings[/ame] and Van Gogh [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XemweIAvi8Q]YouTube - A Tribute to Vincent Van Gogh[/ame] who are both pretty well known artists and everybody appreciated theyre work. Nobody would swear at theyre paintings and get mad at it as if it ruined its life. Nowadays, you try to show somone a white rapper and the first thing I gurantee that comes to most of peoples minds is, "Hes trying to be like eminem" "he sounds liek eminem" "Why is whitey trying to be black" "why cant you just act your race".... I know painting and rapping is a huge difference but an artist is an artist? Why'll one will paint upon a canvas. The other makes music. I think we can both agree it takes a certain amount of skill that alot dont have more than other do in order to do these things and have people appreciate it. Im high and idk, anyone care to build off this?
