If you've never been in the music business...forget it... You wanna get ahead in the business, you need contacts, loads of'em...and it seems to me you don't have those...being a manager isn't too easy...involves hard work and huge telephone bills...and skills...
Find a club that plays his type of music and ask to do a gig thier free of charge to get the word out about him. Make a webpage with soem of his music to get him known somewere.
contrary to tv, i doubt just anyone with no real knowledge of the business can just decide to be a talent manager one day and be successful at it. so i think you should read up on it a while and try to get some contacts before you just jump into things.
