My first hydro grow

  1. So I am doing a hydro run and decided to go with a top feed system but I would just like to ask some folks on here about what schedule should the water cycle?? I have seen some that run constantly thats what my buddy at the grow shop suggested. I am growing in hydroton which allows the water to drain right through but I am starting my seeds in grow plugs so I dont want to drowned the seedlings should I take them out of the plugs before putting them in the system?? Or will they be ok in the plugs with the system running constantly?:confused:

  2. Ok let me rephrase my question I would just like to get an opinion on when to transplant a seedling into my top feed buckets?? And what would be the best water cycle to run I was planning to just let them run constantly??

  3. Bump..
Interested in hearing someone with experiences opinion.

I just built a hydro system that does bubbleponics along with sprayers at the top and I leave my system running 24/7 in a 35 gallon rubber maid thing with 14 g of water. I started a few in some sponge like material (you can use rock wool or whatever) and waited till I had noticeable root development then transplanted to my hydro set up with RO water and hygrozym and super thrive till it gets to about the 4th leaf set then I will be adding nutes. As this is my first grow not 100% sure it's the correct way just the way im trying it.

  4. Well I just popped them into the buckets and they have taken off. I am using the lucas formula and they hit two weeks and I bumped up the ppms to 550 ph stays at 6.0. They are growing like crazy I have never seen growth like this:D my only question now is if I am running my pumps 24/7 when I switch my light to 18/6 do I shut the pumps off too during dark period?
