My first grow.

  1. Right now I have 3 plants going. 1 Bag seed, and 2 feminized chronic plants. I'm using a hydro farm 250 watt hps. I plan to get a 600 watt one friday so I can grow another 5 good sized plants. Would my current 250 watt hps be good enough to support two 3-4 foot plants and a smaller one? I ask because I intend to use my 600 watt light in a different room.

Also when Looking at hps lamps etc. I noticed some are priced a bit more than the others. Was wondering if it was just a brand thing or if one was really better than the other?

The one I'm looking to get
Amazon.com: Hydrofarm Radiant HPS System w/ 600 watt Sodium Agro Hortilux Bulb: Kitchen & Dining

Bagseed at nearly 3 and a half weeks. I was unsure if I can tell the sex yet or not? But It looks like a female to me? Can somebody confirm this? resolution is crap I know.

Here are my 2 chronic plants at 2 weeks 1 day. They are both in 3 gallon pots at the moment. I used miracle grow moisture controll potting mix.

  2. Its too soon to tell sex & your 250 will deff. be good for those 2-3 plants..

As for brands of lights some bulbs offer higher lumens or different spectrums and so that might account for the differences in price.

Also miracle grow moisture control is not ideal for MJ. It has high water retention properties and you generally want the MJ's soil to dry out. EIther add a shitload of perlite and sand for next time or go get some FFOF.

  3. Awesome man! I bought the soil as it was cheep. I'm broke at the moment. But I'll probably water every 3 days because of this. I also bought some Shultz 10-15-10 plant food. I havn't used it yet. But I guess I'm supposed to wait until I decide to flower.

  4. in the first two pics it really looks like you are overwatering or something. they look really droopy. make sure your ph is in check.

  5. You are right, I just watered it again >< prior to reading this. I'll give her 4 days before I consider it again.

  6. Return it and find 20-20-20 or 12-12-10 or something.

The first number should be the largest. I may sound unacknowledgable because i do not recall the terms or the exact meaning behind the numbers but i know 100% that the first number should be the highest and the second and third number should be either the same value of the first or less.

Read up on what im talking about its bound to be somewhere around here.

  7. im planning on using schultz also.
    10-15-10 for veg
and then colorburst 15-30-15 for flowering

  8. some of those pics look like u might be overwatering bro... do you wait until the soil is completely dry to water again?

The leaves just look a little droopy to me...

Mizzike420 - I do think it's from over watering. I want to also say that The pot he is in is like a little under a gallon. I wonder if that might have anything to do with it. If so no bigs, as it was the bag seed/exp plant.

I watered them all last night, but will be giving them a solid 4 days before I check up on them. I usualy wait until the top soil seems "crispy"

Edit: The 3rd plant. One of the 2 chronic ones had a thermometer fall over on it when it was sprouting it's 2 big leaves and flattened her a bit. She recovered, but still looks in meh shape.

I'm looking to score 5 ounces.

    @iCultivate

The dude at home Depot gave me the wink if you will and said that it was good stuff.

  10. Yeah really it is

  11. As long as there is at least some nitrogen in the food it will be alright. NPK = nitrogen phosphorus potassium. And yes you are right generally for veg you want lots of nitrogen but i wouldnt say he has to take it back.

  12. I would rethink the Schultz stuff. To my knowledge 9 out of 10 Schultz products have a slow release nitrogen that can build up and burn your plans as far as 10 weeks after the first feeding. MJ likes Nitrogen it can absorb right away, not 6-10 weeks later... Alot of blades might disagree with me, but I am talking from my own personal experiences. They do look a bit over watered by the way. You shouldn't water untill the big fan leaves start to droop just a little bit. Good luck on this one and I wish you the best. :smoking:

I have a question regarding my 2 chronic plants. Each are in 3 gallon pots under a 250 hps. How long should I let them veg? Ive been reading around but it's stil a tad hazy. I'm guessing anywhere from 5-7 weeks? And I plan to flower for about 8 weeks. At least that was the guestament on the site I bought the feminized seeds from. I want to aim for 5 ounces per plant.

I get my 600 watt tomorrow with that damn expensive agrosun red bulb to grow another 5.

  14. My 600W DWC system yields upwards of 1/2 lb plant when I run three plants and veg for four weeks. I'd say your 5-7 week time frame sound about right, probably closer to the end of that range. No need to make any determinations on that now, though.

  15. you need more nitrogen than phosphates in your fert for veg. when you switch to flower you want more phosphates than nitrogen, so 10-15-10 is not good for veg, if you got 600 watt lights coming, you can order some good ferts online. check out fox farms or technaflora, both good and easy to use.

  16. canna pk 13/14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
