My first grow: Ice and CFLs.

I finally decided to take the plunge! After much research, I went out and bought everything that I needed. I am growing 2 plants, both of which are Nirvana's Ice. The cabinet is a simple 2x2x3 cabinet. I have 2 intake holes at the bottom and 1 exhaust at the top. I attached a DIY carbon filter as well.

For lights I have a 40w, a 60w, and a 75w CFL for each plant. So 350w all together, 175w for each plant. All I have is my camera phone right now (saving up for a digital), but I reckon any pictures are better then none!

I am very excited about this. As long as one of these plants is a female, I am thinking about starting a clone/ScroG setup. I think that's about it for now. Here are the 2 pictures:


This is my first plant. She is perfect in every way!


This is the second plant. It is also doing well. The only problem it is having atm is that the stem is quite flimsy and has bent over to the side. Also, the top leaves seem to be crooked for whatever reason. I tied a small toothpick to it to straighten it out, but I'm not sure what could be causing the crooked leaves? I do have a fan blowing on them, perhaps it was going a little too hard?

My first plant is clearly growing faster then the second one. Also, I find this too be really wierd. My first plant, when I smell it, has a very distinct smell. It has always had a smell since seedling. Yet my second plant has no smell at all. Why would this be?

 

Thank you! Hopefully all goes well. I checked my plants again and it seems they grew more in a few hours, and one of the bigger leaves was against one of the lights. The tip was a little singed, but hopefully that won't cause any serious issues. I readjusted all the lights and whatnot.

Thanks for the comments guys. Flow, I'm just using general potting soil, nothing too special. I believe it has some sort of moisture control to help with under/overwatering as well. I added perlite and vermaculite to it, seems to be working excellent.

Although plant 1 is growing faster then plant 2, my money is also on #2. Seems more uniform.

The cabinet is starting to smell a bit, when I open it up, but that's ok. My carbon filter seems to be working good, can't smell anything outside of it. I also added an air freshner thing in the room.

I guess I'll be adding the veg nutes in about a week or so.

 

I have a concern. I noticed that the 2 bottom leaves on both of my plants are starting to get light discolorations. The rest of the plant looks awesome, nothing wrong. Just the 2 bottom leaves on both plants. Is this normal?

Picked up a digital camera today. PowerShot A540. This was the only picture that came out good out of the ones I took. I'll keep practicing
