First pics!! These girls were germed on 4/24 and planted into dixie cups a couple days later. I kept them inside under 2 small cfls until first week of May. They went outside around 5/9 at which time i transplanted into 2 gallon pots. There are going to be 4 strains Kings Kush, PG-13, Buddah White Dwarf and Auto Blueberry by Dutch Passion. Am hoping the autos will get done somewhere late July or early Aug. at the latest. That way maybe will keep me patient waiting on the other two to finish in Oct. I have nutes but I havent fed anything yet. I have Fox Farm trio and they're in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I just wasn't sure if I needed to feed any nutes outdoor so I was kinda holding off.
<Subscribing I'm starting my first plant and i didn't start adding nutes til about the 5 or 6th leaf sets. I read that some people don't use nutrients until the plants look like they need it.
This is my first grow ever. I read a lot on the indoor stuff because initially I had planned on starting indoor my first grow. I have all the stuff I need (lights, fans, tent, nutes) but my plan for space kinda fell through. So I decided I could do at least 4 or 5 outside till I work out my space issue. I was thinking they looked a little small but most of what I'm comparing to are pictures of indoor grows and I know there will be some difference. I did notice though for about a week after transplanting I didn't get any growth. It was kinda chilly around that time temps got down in the 50s. Then in the last week or so temps were pretty good in the low 80s in the day n 70s at night. Now I'm noticing a lot more light green new growth coming in. So hoping now that the temps shouldn't dip too low they'll take off. I only had to water once since they've been out its rained just about every other day. If anyone has advice on nutes I'd sure appreciate it. I figure the rain will be just about done here soon and I will have to take over watering. The nutes I have are the fox farm nutrient trio and fox farm soluble trio. I also have a butter bowl of bat guano one of my friends gave me. And I have the ph up and down if I need it (I pretty much bought everything I thought I might need just in case). Like I said though any advice or comments will be much appreciated. I am sure I have a lot to learn this being my first grow and all. Thanks in advance and I hope you enjoy my journal.
So far what i know about nutrients is that you should use one that's high in nitrogen during the vegetative state, and towards flowering state use one lower in nitrogen. Nutrients have a NPK ratio, meaning Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium. Look on the bottle for numbers like 10-10-5 or whatever it might be, the first number represents nitrogen. Use the one with the higher nitrogen level. I'm new to growing myself, so i may not be 100% correct. For the bat guano, i think u can make a tea with it, or sprinkle it on your soil.
I am so excited to see how they turn out. One other thing I was wondering are the 2 gallon pots gonna be enough to hold these babies till the end? I currently have the biggest by itself but the other two shorter plants are where I threw the auto blueberry seeds. I'll get some pics tomorrow of those they sprouted a few days ago. I might be able to gingerly get them out and in their own pots if I need to. Will having 2 plants in one pot tangle the roots and cause less growth? I read a journal of someones auto blueberry and they said they get around 22" to 24" tall. Just still don't know if you could grow two autos in one pot if that's all the bigger they get? Still learning bare with me.
From what i've read a 3, 4, or 5 gallon pot is recommended but i've seen a clone that was grown in a 2 gallon bucket, the guy only got under a quarter ounce though..
Looking good man but yeah you might want some larger containers, I use 10 gallon starting plants now and at the end their rootbound...just depends on how big you want em
Ok so I got really nervous and got those Auto Blueberrys out of the pots away from the other babies. I don't think woulda been a pretty picture to seperate them later. The roots hadn't did a whole lot since they just sprouted a couple days ago. I put them in dixie cups for now and plan on getting my bigger pots within the next week or so and I will transplant them all one last time. Anyway here are today's pics. Pic one is the first auto blueberry just after transplant. Second pic is the smallest of their 3 bigger sisters. Third pic is the second auto blueberry. Forth is the tallest of the 3 big sisters. Then last but not least is the middle child lol. I put the dixie cups up in the pots to give more of an idea about how big they all are. Then after that I put them in some direct sunlight should be shaded in a couple hours though. Later i will put them over with the rest of the plants where they get about 8 hours of good sun a day. So for now the only ones I know for sure are the two auto blueberrys and your guess is as good as mine on the other 3. I know I planted 1 each of Kings Kush, Pg-13 and Buddha White Dwarf. So I guess I will know the White Dwarf when it starts to flower here soon since it's about 4 weeks old it should start anytime now. Then maybe the tall one is the PG-13 it was listed as a tall plant I believe and the Kings Kush as a medium. Anyway guess we'll see if we can tell better later. I have so many good seeds left too. Like I said earlier I went all out prepping for some killer indoor. So I got seeds from a couple differnt places. So still have LSD Fem, More Auto Blueberry Fem, more Kings Kush Fem, Mk Ultra Fem, Taiga Fem, Euphoria Fem, more Pg-13 and one Buddha Quasar fem.
Hiya Terar! Looking fabulous friend! I definitely hope this pulls through to a big ol' juicy crop for you. I am really interested in that auto bb. Depending on how this year goes, I am very seriously considering a decent run of auto's.
k quick update. These pics are a from 5/31. I plan on taking some more tomorrow so thought I better post these. Today I did some fimming on the biggest plant. I want to try to see if I can get it a little more bushy. So again look for some more pics tomorrow with what the fimming looks like. And yay my first auto has been budding since 5/31 so you can see how the progress is there as well tomorrow.
Since this is my first grow. Anyone out there know how outdoor high temps affect these babies? Should I be good as long as they aren't showing signs of being burned? Is maybe the very high temps the reason they seem to be growing so slow? Or is that just me expecting too much too soon? It just seems like when I look at other jornals everyone elses plants have a lot more progress than mine. Should I start using the nutes I have? I am sure if I do I would probably need to invest in a ppm meter so I could get things dialed in so I don't screw stuff up. Any advice anyone can give would be awesome. Thanks. Below is pic of current and upcoming temps and weather.
Ok just went out and took a few pics. I tried to get a good pic of the fimming I did but the pics were horrible. I will go out later in the evening when the sun starts to go down and see if I can get a better FIM pic. My auto bud is starting to grow but only that top cola don't see signs of any other bud shoots yet. Again on that unless it starts to really shoot up I doubt I'd get more than an eighth total off it lol. But eh an eighth is better than nothing right. On the baby auto blueberrys one is doing pretty well the other got a lot of abuse and I can see it isn't as pretty green as the other one. It has to be hella stressed I moved them in the garage last night while someone was visiting and when I went to put them back out I knocked over the dixie cup. There was still a lot of dirt around the roots so I hope they didn't get too damaged. But I seated back in and put soil back around her. I guess time will tell. The plant I like the best is my middle sized plant it seems to be bushing really good. Although I did notice my tall baby is finally looking like it's filling in. Ok anyway enough talk on to the pics.
Here is what weather is looking like here for next couple days. I don't like when the humidity is so high that it feels like you're going to melt when you walk outside. But eh you take what you get in Ohio. What happened to spring? Guess this is going to be one hot summer. Might even get up to 100 before long. It's already been close.
Looking good man. Make sure the taller ones aren't males, i hear the shorter ones that seem like they're lagging behind usually turn out female and the one's that grow taller/faster usually male.
Yea I am watching them close so far no signs of sexing on them. Wonder when they will start to show? Sometime after the days start to get shorter again? I think here the days now get longer until around June 21st then they start to get shorter again. So was hoping like middle of July I can sex them. I can't wait. Then I believe for the Kings Kush says 9 weeks flowering it is a feminized seed (but I have heard under stress can still go hermie). And for the PG-13 it is a regular seed says 11 weeks flowering. So should hopefully put them done in time for the frost to start.
Ok picture update. Here is what everything looked like just a few minutes ago. My baby auto blueberrys are coming along pretty decent. As you can see the auto white dwarf is budding started budding around 5/31. My other two regular plants are doing pretty decent too. I topped one (messed up on fimming lol took too much of the growth off and ended looking like i topped instead). The other I think I did a better fim job on a couple days ago so hopefully should be seeing some changes in the next couple weeks. Hoping it will help work on getting bushy instead of taller. Anyway onto the pics.
Where did you hear that from? I grow autos since they where invented and never had a hermie among them!
