My First Foray Into Hydroponics, Help Please...

  1. Now that I have a couple of soil grows successfully under my belt, I REALLY want to try a hydroponic setup this time. I've done quite a bit of scouring this and other sites for information, but I still have a few questions.

    1) How many gallons of water do I need per plant? I think I am going to use Rubbermaid containers or something of the sort, and was planning on putting 6 or 8 plants in each. I'm not planning on letting them get TOO huge.

    2) A friend of mine gave me ALL of the nutes he had piled up in his closet. Which ones would you guys go with? (I'll attach a pic of everything I have at the end of this post)

    3) I'm having a hell of a time finding net pots in this East Texas hell hole. I've seen some pretty ghetto solutions on how to make your own, but is there anything else that will suffice?

So far I have 6 Lavenders, 2 C99's, and a Sour Diesel. The Bubblegum and G13 have yet to germinate. :(

Thanks in advance and happy gardening,

  2. Ok, lets start with nutz. I use the flora micro, grow and bloom. Your pic shows you have some. But, I also use Vertigro(2 part mix) - its a powder mix. Yes, I use both. I find that some plants I grow does better than the other with these. My thai does better with flora and my afghan does better with Vertigro and my skunk does better with Vertigro. You'll have to experiement. Now, as for net pots. Best thing to do is buy online, I use 3" net pots w/small lave rock. I put all clones and seedlings in peat cubes. Again, my choice because it works for me. Everyone who grows has there own nack at things. I also like the bubble jugs and SOG. Some don't. I also bred what I call Mix. It grows better with flora. I use to like those tall plants, but now I grow 30" plants with one big fat bud. About 24" worth. Lights and climate has a lot to do with your crop as well.
