  2. How much did culinary school cost you?

What's your next step if you graduated from the school?

  3. Oh its cost me an arm and a leg...trust me!! Probably close to 50k before studet grants and shit..
Eventually I wanted open some sort of Reasturant/Store making homemade pasta in all kinda of different way..I have tons of ideas!

  4. 50? o_O

Any interesting stories abou your experience goin' o school?

  5. Awesome stuff. Culinary school was definitely something I was considering. What's the experience been like so far? Is it competitive or do people try to help each other out?

  6. which culinary school are you going to? the only one i know of in the $50k range is the CIA.

  7. LCB.. The total tuition is around 42k for Assosiates Degree...but I got really sick a couple classes and have had to pay to retake them. 300 bucks a credit.

It has been very fun actually. It is not competitive at all in the classroom. Everyone kinda works together, like a kitchen should be ran! We do have compitions and whatnot that do get real competitive to be the best! All in all I do not regret my choice in culinary. I just wish I had researched and picked a different school.

Awsome dude! Im a culinary chef myself too. Although I never did attend school, I became a pro using my own technique and skills. Everyone up in northern just cant resist my food. Is it ok if I post some food pics on your threads and show what I can do? I dont do fancy plating like you do but its pretty damn good. LOL

I've been wanting to go to culinary school but haven't signed the papers yet. Plus I figured why go when you can learn more in a restaurant kitchen for free.

  15. After taking a machete to my right hand, I had to step down from a long kitchen career.

Nice looking tart. And don't worry about taking photos all the time. In a year or two those pics will embarrass you.

My advice for anyone currently in culinary school?

Fight hard for a bad-ass externship right now and make a job of it when you get out. Someday you will learn to hate externs, so just remember that when you start. Stay positive, listen to everyone, and keep your head down. Differ the loans as long as possible, cuz it will be a moment before the money is comfortably rolling in.

    Wear your clogs with pride.
