Yes I have been trying to fix the problem with fox farms grow big. I have not tested the run off but the ph of the water a feed them is normal. I do think the growth has been a little slow though. These were planted at xmas time. What do u think?
definitely growing slowly, looks like my plants did before i started checking run off pH. Water with any water 6.5-7.0... wait for it to drip out of the bottom, and test the first couple drops (as much as u need to test). The runoff should be 6.4-6.8, dont fert anymore until u test the ph and are sure it is in this range, otherwise u could cause N toxicity. Also, what kind of soil are u using? edit: when u water, just water until u start to see runoff. If it is not a ph problem, it is over watering. I had both of these problems, my plants looked the same way.
The soil I got for thso grow is called dutch treat. First time using it but i dont know alot about the soil to tell you the truth.
What method did u use to test runoff? If u dont have a digital meter u need one. They go for $20-$30 on ebay look for Hanna brand. I have compared results for the strips and the ph testing drops, versus a digital meter, and both other methods are very unreliable.
hmmmm yea i just use the little droper and vile method. just waterd them now. I also have a cheap moisture tester to ensure i dont over water. It was only like 5 bucks but it helps. Umm other then that im stumped. I great air flow and plenty of light in my small space. I will pick up a meter when i get the cash.
Oh by the way. Despite what anyone says to you, if you flush your plants once a week in regulated ph water, you'll never have a ph problem. Marijuana is so easy to grow and everyone makes it seem so difficult. Once my brother and I pushed 6 seeds into the ground. NEVER watered or fed them once and 5 of them grew 3 were females, those 3 flowered and gave us almost 2.5 oz each.
well bags are squishy...isnt there risk of root damage???? If not, plastic bags are a space saver for small grows. I never thought about it before, but I'll try it.
Im actuly thinking about getting some pots and some new soil to try to boost these little ones. Think its a good idea or should i just keep the bags and curent soil?
Althought i will agree with just throwing some seeds in the ground (i did this several times and got bud)... BUT the statement about flushing is NOT true. If u are adding nutes and ur ph in the soil is 5.8 (too low) u flush with 7.0, then u water a few more times making the ph 5.8. This is bad for the plants and will kill them. Look up ph fluctuation and u will see the pictures. MJ is not difficult to grow, but why not grow it right, 20 or 30 dollars is not much to ensure healthy plants
Out door plants are flushed by rainwater once a week where marijuana thrives. I have never tested my ph after my first grow, though I can spot ph damage by eye. Flushing every week has worked for me in 2 previous grows and in 6 of my older brothers grows. It might be true that some strains may die from over flushing because of their genetics...But I have never killed a plant this way. The female of my last grow in which I flushed every 10 days or so during her entire life.
what soil did u use for that? If u start with bad soil, its almost impossible to keep ph in check... also his soil doesnt look like it has much perlite, flushing that often is likely to kill his plants. Flushing every 10 days is more reasonable than once a week.
Well off to get a fancy ph pen. I guess its needed. lol more money gone.....dam this hobby is expensive. lol
Screw the ph pen!!! The fuckers are root bound!!!!! so what i did is get some pots and gently got rid of some of the soil around the roots. Put them in new soil. Now I know at this point im prob stressing the hell out of em but i think im going to sex these now take clones and start over.
