My 3x3 Setup, don't really know if I should change anything; Advice very welcome!

  1. Hi LaevsMicroGrow, welcome to GC.

You are off to a good start with that Quantum light and grow bags! What soil and nutrients are you intending to use? Are you able to easily test water pH with and without nutes?

  2. I would probably use a soil normally for roses (because flowers 'n stuff) mixed with perlite. I don't have a plan for nutes yet, because most people say that the nutes in Soil are most of times enough for the entire grow, though I should probably look into a solution for a bloom fertilizer, right? Also, i haven't really looked into pH testing yet and our water is filtered and doesn't contain any minerals (as far as I know). Will this cause any problems? Either way, thanks for reminding me about nutes, i'll look into that some more (the 3 pack fox farm nutes are 100 euros here, is that a normal price?)

  3. Be careful what you choose for soil. Yes, some can be too hot. I recommend FoxFarm Ocean Forest, FoxFarm Happy Frog and extra large perlite mixed at a ratio of 1/3 each in your bags. Then, you really don't need to provide much at all during the veg stage other than FoxFarm Big Bloom for the roots. Start adding some flowing nutes around week 4 to 5 of veg, right before flipping to flower. Stop all nutes 2 weeks before harvest and flush each watering.

I use the FoxFarm water soluble trio for flower nutes and they work fantastic. I got 3 pounds from 4 plants last grow.

You said your water is filtered. Is it a reverse osmosis filter? If it is, you'll need to give your plants Cal-Mag to replace the calcium and magnesium the RO filter removes.

The pH of the water or water and nute mixture should always be between 6.2 to 6.8 when you give it to the plants.

100 euro is equal to about $114 USD. We can get the FF liquid trio for anywhere between $35 and $50 here. 100 euro seems a bit steep.

  4. Thanks for all the advice, however fox farm products are very hard/expensive to get in germany. Do you know any other solutions, possibly dutch firms for nutes? I think i'll look into some german forums for now. Anyways, your information is very valuable to me, thank you very much!

  5. Not a problem my friend. ;)

There are many on GC from around your area that might be able to help with the soil and nutes. A few of them I know are @VikingToker and @aaronthegerman.

Guys, can you help LaevsMicroGrow out with locating soils and nutes comparable to those from FoxFarm?

  7. Alright. I've found some information for other german growers who see this thread. Apparently BioBizz is a brand easily accessible in Germany and also has quite good reputation in the german growing community. For starters like me the AllMix together with the Biobizz Starters Pack is supposed to be a good deal, so I'm probably going to go with these two. They also have a nutrition plan: https://www.grow-shop24.de/mediafiles/PDFs/biobizz-duengeschema.pdf
I hope this information helps others aswell!

  9. This doesn't surprise me. My gal tells all her pals that I am a grower not a shower.

  10. Use ffhp for veg, will feed plant 1-2 weeks depending on how much it eats. Use ffof for flower.. with nutes use the ff trio set. Big bloom grow big and tiger bloom. Big bloom u use from start to finish. Grow big till about week 5 of flower. Tiger bloom is at start of flower. This is per ff nute chart. I’ve been using it with no issues

  11. I've found that the 1/3 each of FFOF, FFHF and extra large perlite is a perfect mix for my grows. OF is a great potting soil with plenty of N for growth and HF is more related to root health but can get more compacted than OF when using either alone. Mixing them with an equal amount of extra large perlite seals the deal in providing adequate aeration to the mix with excellent drainage to help get more O2 into the root zone to promote a more healthy root structure.

Yep, I agree the FF liquid trio is good stuff and is what I originally started with but, I've found that there's plenty of N in my soil mix for all of my 5 to 6 weeks of veg without having to add any FF Grow Big at all. I don't even use Grow Big anymore. I use Big Bloom in every watering/feeding, and I only add a little Tiger Bloom to lower pH if ever needed during veg but I use the FF water soluble trio through all of flower instead of Tiger Bloom. If you haven't seen them, I recommend you check them out. Game changer.

I've got things pretty dialed in. Between my soil and nutes and my 300 watts of quad QB132 boards above each of my 4 plants I can harvest between 3 and 4 dry pounds per grow. ;)

  12. Damn! Can’t wait till I’m there! I have 4 qb288 with the 150-54a(160w) each in a 3x3. I been messing around with some bag seed clones. Just started my first two seeds, put them in soil today. The 3 soluble. I actually went to get those. They guy said they work great but to save money and get the same results I could go with MOAB. Which is basically those 3 in one thing. Over the last 3 months I been buying the small containers of advanced nutrients. Have like 3 or 4 more b4 I have them all. Gonna give those a shot also.

  13. How long have you been growing. And from when u started growing good with the ff trio Is there a huge difference in adding the soluble trio? I found this site. Just ordered them. They are 35$ each at our shop this was 79 free shipping for all three

Fox Farms Soluble 1 lb Tri Pack

Since I have two seeds started I’ll use the ff trio with MOAB on one seed and ff trio and soluble trio on other seed.

Since I started I use straight soil..... getting around to adding perlite, can’t wait to see how much bigger they grow once it is added.

How long do you veg for?

    What is ur water/nute schedule?

How long do u flush with plain water before harvest?

  14. I sent you a PM so we don't take over the OP's thread.
