My 3rd attempt .....

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Scarlette, Mar 18, 2012.

  1. After going through a good amount of threads on here, I decided to give it one more try. On my first grow, the seeds sprouted right away and did very well, for about three weeks. Them some ugly, big, green word invader came and infested my crop. Second attempt, too much heat, not enough air circulation. Third attempt started yesterday and so far, after planting seeds that had been soaked in water .... Great outcome.
The ph and everything else is at a healthy reading (7-7.5).
I have three different soils ( I call it soil) in three different containers.

1- started with Burpee Eco friendly cell seeds. Made from natural coconut fiber and germination sheets.
2- started with Ferry Morse organic seed starter mix.
3- started with a mixture of 1/2 Morse & 1/2 with Miracle Grow organic garden soil.

Pics to follow .... The iPhone isn't being successful with pics.

  2. Loose the MG or we will be reading your fourth attempt thread

  3. I agree, soil is a very important factor in your grow, MG is complete carbage for trying to grow marijuana. If you took th money u spent on those 3, you could have bought 1 big bag of foxfarm...

    I've got a few Sylvania Spot-Gro 65w on them.

  8. Incandescent...toasty! If you have been using those, I think I see why you had heat issues on your second attempt.

Ditch the incandescents and pick up CFLs.

  9. I'm not sure if the bulbs you are using are incandescent, but if they are, they dont give off usable lights to the plants. Only CFL and floro do for cheap bulbs. Regular incandescents wont work

  10. Yo scarlet, if your using that bulb brother posted, sorry to say bud but that thing is not goign to grow your plants.

  11. depending on which area you live in you should be able to find far superior quality compost than foxfarms. The other fox farm ingredients should be available locally at a great fraction of FF's cost, eg. kelp meal, alfalfa meal, neem seed meal...

  12. The bulbs are incandescent. Will LED work? I live in GA, Savannah and I haven't had the luck I did in NJ. So I have to order my medium and I'm not sure from where. Ladies and gents, this is my first attempt to grow herb. I have always done well with veggies and cooking herbs, so I thought it would be easy .... It's not.
