My 2nd run FF soil -Critical+ and Pinneaple Express

    Hey GC :wave:

    Hope you are all doing good.

    This is my second run. I'm using Fox Farm Happy Frog and Ocean Forest, with the FF trio GB, TB and BB. I know it is not 100% organics but I am already working on that. I already set up a Vermi compost Bin and a thermal compost bin. Also I have a bunch of organic ingredients which I'll be listing up later already cooking in my soil mix.

    Right now I'm veggin a Pineapple Express and Flowering a Crit+ in a 5g smartie. I am veggin with T5 custom cab and flowering with a 400w hps in a 3x2 tent.

    As soon as I have my organic soil ready I will plant the clones I have from both and testing it out. For now I'll show you some pics of what I currently have going on. Enjoy :smoking:

    Ok, this is what i got in the soil thats been cooking for a week:

    Fox Farm 1.5cf Happy Frog
    .5cf Thermal compost
    .5cf Vermicompost
    (10oz) Bat Guano
    (10oz) Bone Meal
    (10oz) Blood Meal
    1/2 lb Potassium Sulphate
    1.5tbsp Epsom Salt
    3/4 tsp Powdered Humic Acid
    1tbsp Kelp Powder
    1tbsp Azomite
    1/4 cup Mycorrhizal Fungi
    2tbsp Dolomite lime

    I know the measurements I have sucks but its what I got and it was recommended to mix with a 1.5cf soil bag. I'm thnking adding a small bag of GH Ancient Forest. I will be trying out that mix for the clones I got coming up.

    I'm new to the organics, so I'm open to suggestion. :smoke:

    Hey MrFlk,

    Welcome to the organics forum! You'll find more solid grow info [page for page] here than anywhere on the web. Spend an hour a day reading the threads of the masters, and before you know it, you'll be an organic terrorist. :D

    You might want to back off on the feeding of your Crit+ flowering girl. Notice the upper leaves, how the margins are rolling under and the tips are hooking down. That's a clear sign that she's processing too much nitrogen. Water only for the next few waterings or until she straightens out.

    If she continues to hook, then you probably have too much available nitrogen in your mix, with blood meal being the most likely suspect.

    In the mix you list, you have 2.5 cu ft of base material, which is all good, but there's no aeration component. Adding 1 cu ft of perlite will keep the soil loose and ensure the roots get plenty of oxygen.

    You're a little light on the dolomite lime. 1/2 cup/cu ft is pretty standard, so adding 1 cup to your mix would do it well. That will increase the calcium and magnesium in the mix and buffer the PH as well.

    It's hard to say about the rest of your amendments, since you'll be feeding bottled nutes. If this was a pure organic mix, then it would be light on the kelp and very light on the azomite (rock dusts). But, your bottled nutes will most likely contain the minerals and elements to make up for them.

    This mix might be a little hot for clones (again, the blood meal). Plain water until they establish themselves would be a good plan. Be patient, and don't feed if they show signs of stress.

    Thanks for the info PApA, The mix I mentioned above is cooking up right now , the crit+ is in a 5g smart pot only using FF Happy Frog and Ocean Forest 50/50. That's why I use bottled nutes on them.

    Later I will use the Soil mix as a water only and test it with my clones. I've read a lot of stuff in thi forum and you are right, there is a lot of Info here that you won find anywhere else.

    I will water only the Crit+ from now on and try to get her straight. Thanks again

    Hey I made it brother! Looks good so far.. Lots and lots of knowledgable growers in the organics section.. I can get lost in here for hours everyday.;)

    Give me 2 weeks and there is going to be some nice colas in that tent. I read your are using some organics on your garden too, kelp, alfalfa... I hope someday I'll have the knowledge as some organic grower have .

    I'll just keep on reading and keep testing until I get everything under control.

    I have had complete faith in ya from the get go bud. Organics is way fun.. I like it more and more everyday.

    I'll be waitin for them colas!:D:D

    Well since I have 3 more days to a pic update on the girl , I will post about something else.
    I made some brownies the other day, they came out awesome. Not too strong and very heady stone. I used NL buds that were harvested before they were due.

    Also this I found the other day, I want to buy that light set up, all GC could have a light to their own growing whatever they want. By the way thats the Packers Field, to keep the grass going :smoke:

    Thanks to a friend of mine I've added to my Veg cab 2x NL x Blueberry and a Hash Plant.
    The ones on the right NLxbb and the bright yellow is the hash.

    Now I have a couple of strains to stash some variety.

    I bought molasses of the internet, and planning on feeding the crit some.I'm going to do some research on how to use it. I wil upload some pics today, buds are popping everywhere.

    I threw in the tent a NLxBB, it barely have space but I managed to get her unde the light. I kept the other clone in veg, just curious and what the buds will be like.
