My 1st baby is sick... need some advice!

  1. Hey guys-

This plant has been a learning experience so far, basically so I don't mess up when it comes time to grow this summer. Right now, it's about 32 days old. Early in veg, I was overwatering it, causing the leaves to sort of droop. Well I let it try out, spacing out watering to about every 4-5 days, using ferts every other time. For some time now, I have noticed that the leaves are starting to curl inwards, as you can see in the pictures. Also, the tip of the curled leaves seem to be yellow/brown. What could this possibly be from? I'd like to think that i'm doing everything right.. the ferts that I'm feeding it is just your average miracle grow fert, 1 tablespoon per gallon of distilled water. not sure on the specs. Also after I flushed it with the ferts yesterday, I've noticed more curling of the leaves than in days past.

    Any help is appreciated!

  2. 1 tablespoon equals 3 teaspoons. This seems like an awfull lot to me unless it is organic, liquid MG [which I don't know if they even make]. If it is a water soluble chemical fert, try 1 teaspoon [tsp] per gallon of water.

  3. SmknVTEC is correct, too much

your using double the amounts........to clarifyTEASPOON NOT TABELSPOON
1 LEVEL TEASPOON per gal. for starters
2 LEVEL TEASPOONS per gal. is full strength for weed

you dont flush with ferts, PH adjusted water ONLY excess nitrogen is causing the leaf curl
But ....your plants are beginning to show a couple issues, I believe you may also have a soil PH issue........MG plant food is very acidic and your double dosing & then flushing with the stuff

do a soil runoff PH test I'm sure youll find your soil is acidic and you need a flush again till you get the soil PH in the 6.5-6.8 range to leech out the salts and excess nitrogen.

  4. Like I said in the other post .Ive had these same problems. DONT USE MIRICAL GRO that stuff is crap.get a furtilizer with micro nutrints I pay 40.00 dollars a gallion for it and it worth every penny. If you soil has good drainage you cant over water.Your local lumberyard or small nursery has nothing worth buying. This is imo but ive been growing 20 years and smoking35
