afternoon guys. i've been smoking for about six months on and off and, like most of you, love listening to music while baked. the question that always bounces around in my mind and is always talked about with my buddy is: "do you think the musician was high writing and/or singing this song?" an example of this would be any lloyd banks songs (espc. "i get high" and "warrior.") he just sounds so fucking chill. so do you guys ever think about this while high? if not, hit that shit and listen closely to some of your favorite shit. peace and keep the love.
Dude, musicians live off the chemical inspiration. every song by Phish ever, has been conceived, written, and performed high. Marijuana and music go perfectly together. if you're a musician try jamming on weed, its a fucking sensory experience thats out of this world
Ya, I always think about that. Some rappers you can tell, look at any of young bucks performances and look at the niggas eyes.
I play my guitar high all the time. Some times I just sit down and set my comp mic to record me and I have just sat there and jammed for like 5 mins just making stuff up off of the top of my head, and it sounds good.
You asked about lloyd banks? lol....click on this link and scrol down a bit and under "MTV Video", click on "The Making of 'stunt'" Its almost 5 mins long but watch it all, he sais at the end he is gonna go smoke young bucks sac lol. and if this doesn;t make sence, its cause i am blitzed lol! peace http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/g_unit/audvid.jhtml
Yeah I only realized how widespread weed smokin isit is through listening to music I'd been listening to for a long time after I started smokin (if the sentence doesnt make sense, it's my bad, I can't think of a better way to phrase it). That and watching movies like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with all those stars clearly demostrating they either know weed and whatnot very well, or are at least quite friendly to it.
I play music when I get high. I write lyrics, I sing and play it on my guitar. But its hard to remember for even 5 minutes, so I record an hour long session with my 8track. I play the blues quite a bit when I'm high too... anyways, when I record it, I can go and listen to it to find all the amazing ideas, then build on it. Good stuff!
People from all walks of life blaze. Of course there's some musicians that smoke. I think any original music, movies, or tv were created while under the influence. Fuck, who knows...Martha Stewart could be a fuckin' pothead.
Have you guys watched Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster? They show Ja Rule's posse (for lack of a better word) smokin' their asses off. Regardless of the weed shots, it's a great documentary. My husband was in a band for years and they experimented with all kinds of drugs. He wrote most of his songs high on coke. That was his drug of preference but he gave it up. He doesn't really smoke weed much anymore either.
i play drums and like to smoke one before playing time. it really does get my creative juices flowing as long as i dont over do it.
i swear that every person on the Chapelle Show looks stoned in the sketches. Their all squinty eyed and red eyed. Theirs only a few times where i've seen people that looked sober on the set.
this afternoon i was listening to "soft parade" by the doors and thought of the fact that morrison was getting head while he recorded it...
yea i rember listening to a live led zeppelin-dazed and confused where he played his guitar with a violin thing and me and my friends were just talking about how wasted they were when they were playing that and all of their songs but yea i think that music is probably the number one thing to do while high.
