Musical artists that almost certainly use hallucinogens?

Discussion in 'Music genres, Bands and Artists' started by emdyeks, Dec 16, 2007.

  1. Here are some that I would be surprised to found out that they don't take shrooms or acid.

    Infected Mushroom
    Shpongle
    Aphex Twin
    Madlib
    Jay Dilla (R.I.P)
    El-P of definitive Jux

I listen to these songs and can't imagine that someone thought of these "concepts" NOT under the influence of some type of hallucinogen.

  2. id imagine infected mushroom dont shroom as much as youd think, maybe not, but ive always wanted to know.

i bet most of the jam bands do hallucinogens as well, or have done.

    oh and the beatles

  14. So many artists used or have used hallucinogens, it's pointless to try to list them. Anyway, Hendrix is probably the best musician that dropped a lot of LSD. They say he was in the middle of three hits when he took the stage at the Montery Pop Festival.

  15. Neil Young
    Pete Townsend
    Every Jazz musician

In fact since all music is derived from the influence of previous music and none of it just appears out of thin air, and since so many musicians have taken drugs through history we could say that every single person in society who listens to music is benefiting from the proceeds of crime. ;)

  16. Yeah, he was also supplied by the man who's picture I posted earlier.
    Owsley Stanley

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owsley_Stanley

    The king of LSD.

"The Jimi Hendrix cover version of the Beatles song "Day Tripper", from a 1967 BBC session first released on CD in 1987, features Jimi Hendrix clearly shouting out, "Oh Owsley, can you hear me now?" during the climactic guitar solo."

This man created the Monterary Purple LSD and White Lightning.

  17. Madlib; Quasimoto's "The Unseen" was conceived from a psilocybin binge.
