Now, I'll be honest here, I'm a huge hip hop head, and i defnintely expand, and have expanded, my musical horizon to other genres. And I definitely enjoy most of them. It has helped me gain a more open minded perspective on music. But theres always a couple songs that have a powerful feeling on me, that make me think so much at one time; my life, what have i done, good memories, etc, and it brings my mind to one peace, and almost makes me tear. It's only certain types of music that bring me to that, such songs like [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m8CkxXhPtw]YouTube - Fleet Foxes - Blue Ridge Mountains (only sound)[/ame] And [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s8YK4R5qa0]YouTube - Incubus - Aqueous Transmission[/ame] These are a few example, but I believe its that certain sound that activates this type of thinking my head. So, are there any songs that make you cry or tear?

There's a song by Nas, called "Life's a Bitch" Not as sad as the title portrays. There's this trumpet or something at the end of the song, I don't know how to describe it and I don't even know if it's a trumpet. Anyways, Nas kills it, and at the end this trumpet drops in. The first time I heard it, I cried. I guess the mixture of then-current life events and the beauty of that song, and learning life is a bitch and then you die - all clicked. Sounds horrible but that thought right there taught me to appreciate life. I used to be super negative, and I believe this song is responsible for getting the wheels rolling in order for me to change my train of thought to a more positive one.
I know what you mean. I've been a hardcore Nas fan, and that trumpet part just adds that certain sound to make everything self reflective. I definitely relate. My bday is coming up and im having an epiphany and self reflecting
That's his dad on trumpet. Badass shit. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctFJhC-WMXo]YouTube - Debussy: Préludes I - 8. La fille aux cheveux de lin (1909-1910)[/ame]
