  1. Hey guys,

I've been downloading a lot of music lately but have hit a wall and can't really think of anything else to download. Would you guys have any suggestions?

    Looking for anything under:

    Instrumental hip hop

    Older hip hop

    Downtempo/electronic

    Mushroom Jazz

    Jazz

    Soul/Doo Wop

    Funk

    Reggae

Or really anything else that is appealing.

Interested in hearing your responses.. :)

  2. You like any kind of rock?

  3. Not a whole bunch, could you name a band or two?

The only rock band that I really like would be Steely Dan, but they are so much more than rock that it's not really far to call them that.

  4. Well you can try classic rock like led zeppelin, pink Floyd, etc. more modern stuff like Alice in Chains or Tool. All goes good with weed

  5. I'd recommend the 2001 album by dr. Dre. Tunes like xxplosive would fall under instrumental hip-hop, right? I'm not too sure what the term means lol

Also, Pass the Marijuana by mystic roots ft sublime. Love that tune

  6. Already heard Led Zeppelin.

I like D'yer Maker, Fool in the Rain, Stairway to Heaven, and Going to California. But there not band that I'd keep in my music folder.

I have Pink Floyd on vinyl and they are good, but I don't really think of them as rock.

I can already tell Alice in Chains isn't my style (from what I've heard).

    Thanks for the suggestions.

  7. Wow, good suggestion, I actually don't have Chronic or 2001 on this computer.

(yes, DEF hip hop, 2001 is held as the gold standard of hip-hop reference for a LOT of mixing engineers).

I can't stand sublime, but I'll check out that song. Thanks

Hmm, I take it you're not a metal kind of person haha

  9. Good guess!

Metal would the exact opposite of the kind of music I like.

Maybe that is actually a better compass than listing what I do like.

  10. Personally I love metal/rock but hey, to each his own. Sorry I couldnt be more help :smoke:

  11. It's all good, Im honestly just happy that we can see our differences and respect them.

  12. Bad Brains are a hardcore punk band they also have some reggae rock stuff

  13. If you dig techno at all, check out Plastikman. Its not as intense like the typical EDM, which makes for great smoking music.

  14. Actually, if you like reggae, look up Delus & konshens.
Some good songs are Babylon Burn, So High, and Leave My Herb Alone

  15. Thanks, I recently saw a local reggae group perform and it really brought back my interest in the genre. They had a really good soundguy too who liked to get trippy with rever/delay (nice change of pace for the venue).
