Music Recording Programs

Discussion in 'General' started by RushTheG, Sep 2, 2009.

  1. Post what you think are the best recording programs for music/rapping, making beats, etc.

  2. FL for beats
    Cool Edit Pro for Vocals

My opinion of course, their what I use to record.

  3. FL Studio definitely isn't the best DAW for either recording or producing. It may be the easiest and best for noobs. But not the best.

Audacity for recording (if you want free) and Ableton live or Logic Pro for producing.

Be sure to stock up on VST's, too!

VSTPLANET is going to be your best friend. It has a HUGE selection of free VST instruments/effects.

Also check out some hardware. If your producing Hip-Hop an MPC can create drums, bass, synths, and sampling. Pretty much all you need for a beginner producer (But it may be complicated at first)

    don't get FL studio.

Reason for PC, Logic Pro for mac

if your doing beats, a midi controller is equally as important as the software, so make sure to pick one up, even if its a cheap m-audio

    [edit] cubase is good too

  5. ^^^This

DAW of your choice + Akai MPD24/32 + M-Audio Oxygen 8 = perfect beginner setup

  6. Both the Akai MPK and the M-Audio Axiom are quality keys/pads controllers.

  7. if you have the money there's protools.

  8. i use garage band and logic 9, and protools.
