Music Recommendations Thread

Discussion in 'Music genres, Bands and Artists' started by JohnnyBlunt, Sep 4, 2006.

  1. As I was browsing the music forum I noticed a broad range of music lovers. That gave me the idea of starting a thread in which we can all ask and give music recommendations. People can come in here and ask for new bands that sound similar to ones they already like. Depending on what they ask for, you can recommend songs, albums, hell even discographys. Hopefully this works out, but to get the ball rolling ill recommend a few albums

    Major Accident- Massacred Melodies
This is an 80s punk band with a very distinct sound, they sound somewhat poppy but the lyrics are all about fighting and drinking! Great album to smoke, drink, fight or fuck to. Check out Brides Of The Beast

    The Haunted- The Haunted
Great guitar work in this album, lots of killer riffs aswell as solos. Vocals are abit to hardcore sounding but they fit.

Utopia Banished- Night of the Black Wyvern
Incredible Melodic metal band from NY. Really underrated band with incredible riffs and solos. Very catchy, they also have that epic sounding tone within their music. Great band, period.

The Dead Boys- Young, Loud, and Snotty
Fantastic 70s punk band, great guitar work, great vocals, great lyrics. Iggy Pop once said that Stiv Bators was the best vocalist ever, next to Jim Morisson. That alone should be enough to convince you to check it out.

Ill leave it at that. So ask/recommend away.
