Hey GC world, So, I'm about a week into my first grow ever; it's pretty fucking cool, people. Seed plus water equals beautiful plant? Pretty amazing, nature! Weed never ceases to amaze me. In any case, I'm running a 2ft, four-bulb t5 with 3:1 6500k/2700k lights. Trying to grow organically, seems like the right way to start growing. Luckily everything is going well, three healthy seedlings and more are sprouting as the day passes, and I'm really having fun with this new hobby, although it's starting to become an obsession... I was wondering if anyone plays music to their plants. If seen studies done that shows a positive correlation between plant health and talking or playing music to the plants. I figure there is probably no negative to doing this, so I might as well try. My biggest issue is trying to figure out what music to play for my girls. At first I thought of playing kids' music because they're so young. I don't to play music that will cause my weed to form a drug problem when they get older... but then again, I'm not really hoping for kiddy weed... So then I thought to go hard and just play og rap 24/7. Get weed that'll curb-stomp you. That thought didn't last too long because weed for me is about love not violence, and so currently I'm thinking of just a classic reggae mix. Please GC, tell me what y'all think. Gonna go smoke another stick
No. But if i did it would be Bethoven. (maybe spelled name wrong. Sorry Bethoven lmao) "Quality, over Quantity."
Classical, interesting idea. It's a mixed grow, so it's like a symphony of weed. I'm liking the though, man. Beethoven always put me to sleep though... I'm looking to get lifted...
How bout some bone thugs n harmony, like 'bud smokers only' send the good vibes her way and she'll thank you for it when harvest time rolls up.
Music is a great idea, I thought about this too. The plant is a living organism. It's possible that it can somehow benefit from the music. Might have to my plant some tunes going.
throw some dubstep and a few 12"s in, the bass will keep the stems rattling better than any oscillating fan would
Gotta love the internet! http://www.ehow.com/about_5112090_effect-music-plant-growth.html Although don't think there's enough weed in the world to get me to listen to country for five hours at a time...

+rep for shimmy shimmy ya and bud smokers only. Might wanna delete stan from the playlist, she might get depressed and take her own life.
when i started growing i played music for them and i like to think it helped. i think its like dude said up there, it watever personality you want them to have. as a new grower you should know that every individual plant you ever grow, male or female has its own personality and its based on how you raise it. i saw on myth busters heavy metal music helps plants grow the best if that means ne thing to you. i dont really notice any difference now that i dont play music tho other than i feel like my plants would stretch up taller a little bit when i played music but i like to stay away from them doing that anyway so no loss to me
Ok let's do dis.. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GMHP9kp-_Q&feature=youtube_gdata_player]LAB - Pagan Orange - YouTube[/ame] Not sure about the video, but good for the plants nevertheless.
i play my drums in the basement, where the plants are. i just read that loud vibrations will hurt them. oh well. well see what happens. i doubt the music itself is doing anything to the plants besides the air movement, which shouldnt have nearly the effect of a fan. same thing as talking to a plant. i dont think the talking is helping them as much as the hot co2 that we breathe around them is.
people have done studies on this, music with more vibrations help the plant grow. mythbusters tried a range of music, and plants that grew with death metal playing were larger.
Stan is a deeeeeeeeeep song. Want my plants to have some soul; the song gives them perspective, you know?
Mad track btw! I'm really going to try this. Dark psy is a strict no for plants? I don't have anything other than dark on my phone..
