So yeah. I use bit torrent for all my CD needs, but I want a program to download specific songs. It helps me explore my interests in music. It\'s also great for pornography. But anyways, I used to use Limewire, then all my files refuse to download and uninstalled it. Thats was a few months back. What is the best program now-a-days?

I would have suggested Limewire... As R_M said, an updated Anti-Virus program should keep you safe, as should common sense, when using Limewire.
lmao, how the hell could we play that if I do not get a turn? And when using Limewire, pay attention to Bitrate and file size. You should be able to figure out which ones are bullshit. I used to use Kazaa, but damn did that become useless quick.
I download stuff (music, movies, etc...) from Newsgroups using a program called Unison. I also occationally use bit torrent.
I use Utorrent to dl movies and albums, www.torrentspy.com. And i use Limewire pro just to dl single songs just download it off torrentspy for free. I use kaspersky for all my virus protection needs. Oh yeah and LIMEWIRE PRO doesnt have any viruses so get that. Not the free one. Hey, I\'ve been using Limewire pro. I used to use that Kazaa bs back in the day before it broke my computer. Of course, it wouldve helped if I actually tried to protect it, heh. I\'ve never experienced any problems with Limewire, personally. But, I\'m actually using anti-virus these days. I\'ve heard about this \"torrent\" thing a lot, but really am clueless on it, sounds a bit confusing... or maybe its just me. Peace.
I download everything using rapidshare links, megaupload links, sendspace, etc. I can\'t use Limewire [my school doesn\'t allow it].
you can usually use Bit Torrent to download individual songs. if you have a client like uTorrent or Azureus when you download a torrent and you are prompted to select a place to save the files you can choose which files to download That way you can select one or two songs from a cd, just an alternative to other programs that no one on here seems to trust. Soul Seek is another program you could use, i haven\'t used it personally but a lot of my music oriented friends have used it and love it. so you could check that out if you wanted.
Give bearshare a shot. It\'s a great program. You\'re gonna want the bearshare pro, just incase the basic has got some crazy spyware or something. If you want I can PM you a link to download the pro one.

If you really do like an artist you should buy their album, especially if they are independent or on a smaller label. Or at the very least, pay to go see them play live. gotta support the musicians some how. Now im definitely all about the file sharing, 130 gb of music says this (thats just what i have after cleaning out some of the stuff i thought was horrible) and i have an account at Oink which pretty much means i could download anything ever, but i still buy the albums of the stuff i really enjoy. just my opinion.
i hate peer to peer, torrent sites, i download everything I get from newsgroups newzbin.com indexing service with nzb newshosting provider i use is giganews.com tried many and giga is the fastest, i get around 680-720kb/sec stable.
