mushroom storage

  1. how do you store moist mushrooms? besides in a refrigorator

  2. Dry them. Wet mushies will stay good up too a week in the fridge. Make sure you put them in a brown paper bag, light leaks break down the active chemicals in the mushrooms..

  3. would a plastic baggie twisted good but not knoted in a brown paper bag be ok without the frig for a while? and how would you dry it

  4. edit: if you put them in a closed bag or closed container with those bags of desiccant(the little bags that absorbs moisture) would that be a way to dry them

  5. Fresh: Consume within a week. Keep them in a brown back to avoid light. And the brown bag absorbs moisture.

Leave them out with a fan blowing on them. They'll dry in a few days. Or use desicant. It'll dry them out much faster, but do NOT allow the mushrooms to touch it.

  6. is it good if i get a air tight jar with a paper with holes to seperate the bagged desicants?

  7. dry mushies in a dark air tight place can last how long?
